Our price went down about $10.00 a person (we have 4 people). It's not much but if I can get it back why not? :thumbsup2 Do they give credits and if they do can I put that towards my nieces and nephews tickets (they have not booked yet) They are coming in the middle of our trip. Thanks

From AirTran's Contract of Carriage:
AirTran said:
Fare Changes: AirTran fares are changed from time to time. The fare a passenger is
charged will be the applicable fare at the time a reservation is confirmed, payment is
made, and a confirmation number is issued.
By the same token, if you're willing to wokr with them a while, calling back a few times perhaps, word is that you could convince one of the agents you deal with to grant you a credit.

I received a credit from Airtran for our trip in January. The price went down $108 total and I have a credit for future travel. All I did was call and ask about it. It was done immediately and I was pleased.

I've always received a credit (minus a $5 pp phone service charge) when the fare has gone down. If you are leaving soon, you may want to take it now. If you're not leaving for a while, you might consider waiting to see if the fare goes down even further. You can only get the fare difference credited once. So only you can decide if you want to gamble or settle for the $20 credit. As far as putting it toward your niece and nephew's tickets, the way I understand it is that if you booked all 4 tickets through your account the credit would come back to you and then you could use it toward the others' tickets. If you didn't use an A+ account number I think the credit goes to individual passengers. I'm really not sure on tickets booked outside an account. Your best bet would be to ask when you call for the credit.

I just wanted to post an Update incase anyone needs to know for any future flights. I called them and they looked up my flights and said they went down a total of $20.00. I said oh online it shows $40.00 total. Then she says when you book online the price is more. I said oh ok. If I did them online I would be charged the cancellation fee to reschedule. So I took the $20.00 credit and booked my niece and nephew. Overall since it costs more to book on the phone it was still $10 bucks cheaper overall. (hope this makes sense)

I just realized the way cbrfan explained is correct. :thumbsup2 Thanks everyone

:confused3 This is the first I've ever heard of it being more expensive to book online.

cbrfan, so sorry I typed that wrong. I meant to say it's more if you book on the phone!! my fault

That's OK, Samandmom. I just thought I'd been paying too much!:scared1: Glad you got your credit and could use it for your niece and nephew.
