Does a smell bring you back?

I was just cleaning out an old cabinet and found a wdw bag with paper work and handouts from orlando & disney. I looked in the bag and the smell was the contempary resort! We had stayed there on that trip (in the tower) and the bag just knocked me right back to that room. I felt like I was on vacation.

My sis went to the tanning bed yesterday and as soon as she got in the car with me I told her she smelled like Florida!!! I don't know if the lotion she used was the same that we use on vacation or if I'm just too anxious for the next 19 days to pass!!!!

I actually go to Bath and Body Works before every Disney Trip and get a new scent and use it that whole time so when I get back, I just have to take a sniff and it brings me right back! For example, Coconut and Lime=week at Old Key West, Cucumber Melon=Very first trip to Contemporary, Candy Apple=Disney Cruise. It's amazing how your smell sense works! I have now started taking the wall outlet thingees too in the same scent so the whole room smells like it. Now I need a new scent for this upcoming trip just for me and dd!

That's funny I do the same thing!!! Last time I had Candy Apple and now everytime I have it on DH goes you smell like Disney World. It always brings a smilie to my face. This time it's going to be Cucumber Melon

Popcorn for me! It takes me back to the little cart at Main Street, as well as my sitting at my favorite place in EPCOT, just soaking it all in while munching away!

I also wear my Laila perfume from EPCOT's Norway, just to "pretend" I am there.

Ahhh, the magic of Disney.

The utilidors below the MK have a very special smell. . . if you've taken the tour you know what I'm talking about! The hallway outside my office at school smelled like that a couple of days ago. . . Ah, the memories!

Ok, I know I have a slight problem. Im a Disney addict. So much so that we were driving the other day with the windows open and I smelled a smell that I can't explain. But it reminded me of frontierland. I guess it was Barbecue. Charcoal or something. I had to stop for a minute and take a big wiff.
Do you think I need to seek psychiatric help?

OH NO you are as normal as can be. I don't need a smell. I can close my eyes and totally remember the smell of our area of Alligator Bayou at Port Orleans riverside. And quite honestly, it almost makes me cry on days I really need a break from the real (not magic) world. Your sanity is safe. Now, mine might be in question- who knows? Coming from Northernmost(like Wisconsin is 1/4 mile away) Illinois I was in love with those little lizardy guys that scampered all over the walkways at our resort. Oh just to chase little lizardy guys again. This coming from a 36 yr old woman.LOL And the first night we were there, my then 11 yr old son went to put card in to unlock room door and one of those sticky toes frogs was over the opening! And this is a straight A computer geek kid. He screamed and ran like a girl. OMG! It still cracks me up. And they had a rogue alligator in the "lake" in front of Cinderella's castle. Just cool. Waaaa We aren't planning on going again for a year and a half. I don't know if I will make it. Will someone who is going sooner adopt me?

I know what you mean!

That musty smell of warm, wet asphalt (like at the Wal-Mart parking lot after a rain) brings me back. Everytime I smell it, I ask my daughter, "do you know what it smells like?" and she will say, "YEAH!! Disney world!!! "

Guess my daughter agrees with me.

Also, the smell of chlorine in a swimming pool takes me back! We do not swim anywhere else but the world!

That's amazing! The same for me. I always feel like it smells like Florida... (since when I was younger we didnt stay on-site so it doesnt just smell like Disney to me ) And the last time I thoguht that... was in the parkinglot of WalMart!!!
