Does a Canadian discount history exist?

We are planning a 2016 summer stay, our holidays always fall the last week of August, which also happens to fall during the FD promotion...or so I thought. I never realized that free dining has not been offered at Disney during August for years, that it always starts pretty much into September. I've been pricing late August trips for three years so far and with the Canadian site, always get the option of FD starting mid August.

So I pulled up the mousesavers history and sure enough only this year states that Canadians had an extra couple weeks with a FD promotion. It does not say any FD for August 2014, which I know is inaccurate because we travelled the 23-29 using it.

Before I start planning ahead and expecting (well okay you can never expect any deal with Disney) but budgeting for another FD offer, is there a Canadian discount history somewhere I can check. I'm just wondering how long this has been an option or what other options they tend to release late August.

We have free dining this year for our stay from August 18-26, 2015 so they do exist.

I was going to recommend the mousesavers history but you've already checked there. I'm not aware of anywhere else that tracks Disney deals, especially those only for Canadians. Those don't seem to happen too frequently these days but hopefully that changes with our weaker dollar.

Thanks, I've searched various wording with no luck. Mousesavers is the only one that tracks any deals consistently. I think I will revamp what I am planning to spend just in case. I just assumed it was always an offer, but I better plan full price and hope for any deal when the time comes....with our dollar they had hopefully offer something because full price may take another year of saving.

I've been watching that myself since 2011. Free dining was offered 7-10 days early for the fall promo for Canadians every year (2011, 2012, 2014 & 2015) except 2013 (THE YEAR WE WENT). It typically starts around the 17-18 of August.

It still burns me that the only year in recent history that didn't offer it was our year.

I'm curious, was 2013 the year our dollar was at par and above? Lol I know that it has happened in my lifetime...possibly that is why they did not offer the deal for us early. Which leaves my planning tricky. Our dollar stays crap and I can get my FD deal, or our dollar jumps and I don't. Guess in the end I'd pay the same.

i am looking at booking for end of august next year as well. hoping for free dining. I am wondering if i should order a package (tickets and hotel) right now for those weeks. and once a Canadian promotion is announced next april to call and have free dining added to my reservation or should i wait with my entire order til announcement? i am confused as many people say they make multiple reservations using different promo and ultimately cancel everything they dont want

Back for my 2012 August trip, the Cdn free dining promo for Fall 2012 was announced in 2011. I remember booking it in Dec 2011. The Americans had to wait until spring. This year, I didn't notice anything in Nov/Dec, but when the American FD was announced, I noticed that the Canadian dates were extended and started in mid-August. I took note of that because it was early, especially with Labor Day being so late this year. My husband now starts work in late August so we cannot go during US free dining anymore...but if earlier dates are available, we may be able to swing a trip.

i don't have the time to do an extensive search for you right now (i like to be able to provide solid information if i don't have personal experience) but there was discussion a few months back that Disney seems to have wised up about the multiple reservations in an attempt to get the best deal ... and some people were finding that ALL of their reservations were cancelled, or if they tried to "edit" an offer it wasn't possible ... not possible to add an extra day or remove some and keep the discount. Just a heads up, try doing a search within the "resort" forum.

Is it always only Disney that offers the FD promotion? I think a couple of times we got it as part of a package that the airline (west jet or maybe transat I think) was offering. We've always gone down either in September or the last week in August.

Most CAA travel agents would know the history. Maybe call your local CAA office and speak with a TA and explain you are looking and wanted to know.
