Does 50% Point Borrowing Restriction on Odd Amounts Round Up or Down?

For instance, if I have 175 points available (or any odd amount) from the next use year, can I borrow 87 or 88 (since 50% is exactly 87.5)? Anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks!

While I haven’t actually borrowed the points to confirm there no issue, I’d note that when it lists my contracts and how much is available for borrowing, it rounds up.

I see the same when I find a lower point reservation and can select which contracts the points come from. If I try a reservation that accounts for the exact rounded-up amount (in this case it's 188 points - when I technically have 187.5) it tells me "You do not have enough points to book this reservation, even with banking or borrowing" and won't let me proceed. So I guess it looks like it doesn't round up.

Okay, now I'm getting the "You do not have enough points" error even on a 176 point home resort reservation. Something is wrong with the booking tool (shocking!) since I definitely should have 187-188 points available for 2022.

EDIT: Nevermind, I think I have to bank the current use year's points first. Sigh. lol

You shouldn’t need to bank current UY to borrow from next UY.

If the trip you are booking is in the next UY and you are relying on banked points as well, then yes, that had to happen first.

But, are you sure you need to borrow? Remember it’s not when you book but travel.

If I was booking an October trip in my Aug 2022 UY today, I am not borrowing g 2022 even though it’s my 2021 UY when booking.

Yes, normally my trips require 3 use years of points. I'm one of "those people" ...haha

I have found that they let me borrow 13 of my 25 point contract. I like that!

Same thing I have noticed
