Doe everyone hate Ohana?

We have been dining at Ohana's for years now and we were very worried about the menu change but we thought that expect for taking away the shrimp wontons that all of the changes were good. We didn't like that the apple sauce was gone either. The new dessert was a HUGH improvement in our opinion over the old pineapple. I can have pineapple at home but I sure can't make that bread pudding at home. It was fabulous.

I thought the old menu was getting a little tired for lack of a better term. I think taking away the lazy susans was stupid, I liked the gimmick! To me it is like when Cape May took away the silver buckets. I loved those silver buckets, I don't know why they got rid of those either.

Anyway, I am rambling now, give Ohana's a try and make up your own opinion. I think its one of the better Disney restaurants of that caliber.

We have only been once. It was a very negative experience. All of us disliked it. We would never return.

We have eaten at Ohana everytrip for the past 5 or 6 years and even though I prefer the "old" menu across the board, except I prefer the potatoes to the rice (no one else in my family does) we will continue to consider it a must do because the pluses far outweigh the minuses in our opinion. I loved the pineapple and carmel (as did my whole family), but I also like the bread pudding. I couldn't get anyone else in my family to even try it. However, I don't know how they could have eaten it, after all the steak, pork, turkey and shrimp everyone ate! Do miss those wontons, too.

Ohana means family!

Went for the first time a year ago and I really liked it. The rest of my extended family (6 adults) weren't as thrilled.

HECK NO!!! We loved OHANA and plan to return on July 21st....If I can get seating!!!

I didn't hate it, but I don't think we'll do it again. We'll try something new. We enjoyed the food just fine, it was iwth the new menu too, but it didn't just bowl us over. I'd try it once and go w/a good attitude..it was fine!

I love 'Ohana. It was my favorite meal at WDW before the menu changed, and now it's my favorite meal anywhere.

I was particularly impressed with the new desert. It's so good, it blows away Mikey Bars and Dole Whips, and any other sweet treat I've ever had at WDW.

Experiences at any restaurant vary. Whenever you read a review, you must be careful to read the facts, not the feelings. "Terrible/great, awesome/awful" don't tell you much, but "dry meat, server dissapeaed for 10 minutes" and "very attentive service, meat juicy and tender" give you a much better idea of what to expect.

:scared1: How could anyone not like Ohana's? It is my favorite restaurant of all time. It is a must do.

I loved the wontons on the old menu. What is different about them now? I notice according to the new menu posted at All Ears, it says fried wontons. Are they different than the shrimp wontons before? Are they like crab rangoons? I went for the wontons so if they're gone, I probably won't go back.

We ate at Ohana's last month and it was our least favorite. That, however doesn't mean it was terrible. It just wasn't our type of meal. Everyone has their favorites, and it wasn't ours. Everything was great and it wasn't at all a bad experience. I would try everything at least once for yourself otherwise you'll never know! Have fun! :earsboy:

I have not eaten there since they changed the menu :teeth:

We were there for the first time in early Nov. I can't compare it to the old menu but we loved it. I will add this to our must do list for our next trip :hyper:

We love Ohana. It was our favorite place we ate anywhere at WDW. We never did try the old menu so we dont have anything to compare it to. But we loved it. Sweetpea loved the chicken wings, potatoes, and pork. Friend loved the veggies, wings, and salad. I loved the shrimp and the wonton chips with the peanut sauce. We all really enjoyed the dessert even though none of us are bread pudding people. The games that were played during the meal were a hoot. Sweetpea had a great time learning the hula, racing coconuts and parading around with the group. Plus the view is great. We can't wait to go back.

We were there in Oct. 2005 & did not like Ohana at all. Maybe they just had a bad night in the kitchen but we thought the meat was dry and did not enjoy the flavorings. I enjoyed some of the sides and the dessert, but DBF didn't like anything (and he is NOT a picky eater). It was only DBF and I though, and we felt a little out of place at this resturant, as it seems to be geared more towards families. Not that this is a bad thing at all, but it may have had an impact on our overall experience. We also went on a very foggy night, so the view was non-existant. I guess you could say that the forces were just against us that night, but first impressions are hard to overcome. We will not be returning.... Although IMO, if the food was better, we had a table with a view, and a few kids in tow, we'd probably love it :) . Hope you enjoy...

Just as a side note, we fell in love with Boma. It had many foods that we have never even heard of before and ended up having the best meal of our trip. I highly recommend trying this one...

I went for this first time this past December and loved it. Would definitely go back.

We have always liked 'Ohanas having eaten there about 8 times, before this past Dec. 27. We had found the service to be anywhere from good to excellent and the food the same. This past Dec. 27 experience was terrible. The service was nearly non-existant. We got seated early and got our drinks and appetizers OK. When they brought the skewers around they were about empty so we each got a couple pieces of meat total. Our food ran out, our drinks were empty and no waiter was to be found. This lasted about 45 minutes. I finally went to the check-in desk and asked for the bill so we could get out of there. I explained what was happening and all I got was the bill. I was not trying to getting anything free so I paid the whole bill for maybe 1/2 of a meal. No refills, no more food and no dessert. This was the first time in my life that I didn't leave a tip.

I didn't want to complain and go back to the table. I keep thinking that nasty things will happen to the food after complaining. I don't plan on going back to 'Ohanas for a long time if ever. We also had a speaker just over my right ear that had the live show blasting in my ear.

The name of the "waiter" on the bill was Blas at table 7.

'Ohana is our favorite restaurant at WDW. We love the turkey and steak. On the new menu, we also love the bread pudding desert. We have had a couple of off nights before but we have found it to be fairly consistant. The coconut race is also a big hit with the kids, as long as they can keep from whacking someone or getting whacked with a broom. :headache:
