Dodgy info on hotel suites?

Hi
I am in such a dilemma about booking for Feb half term.
I had promised my son we would book for Newport Bay as he hasn't stayed there - but now we are going to go in the school hols I would prefer Hotel New York (its just so much smaller/less busy).
I decided to ring up and get a price for the Empire State rooms (as I would like the VIP fastpasses) but was told there weren't any available for my dates. So I asked about suites in Sequoia Lodge or Newport Bay but the American lady told me they dont have any suites in those hotels - her exact words were "we are working on it but they dont have them at the moment". Now I was fairly sure my fellow DISboarders have stayed in them and I said as much but then she said there weren't any available and they dont get VIP fastpasses anyway. Only DLH and HNY.
Am I going mad or is this dubious info from Disney?

Sorry I have only just seen the post about Premium fastpasses and unless something has changed really recently I was definitely given wrong info.
I guess I will ring back and try again.

NBC, HNY, DLH & SL all have suites. Guests staying in them should always get VIP FP.

I'd definitely phone back again - there could be a bit of confusion as both Sequoia and Newport Bay are going to have a concierge level added a la Castle Club and Empire State - or in the case of Newport Bay the Admirals Floor level is going to be improved.

What number are you phoning? I'd phone Central Reservations in Paris 00 33 1 60 30 60 53 as they should be more up to date on things as they're actually in the park as opposed to phoning the UK booking line which takes you to CMs in Florida.

Brilliant - thanks to both of you.
I was trying a 0844 number so i will ring on the other one.
I also had a little look on that Disneyland direct site and that has Empire State rooms.
Mind you I now quite fancy the Presidential Suite for £7500 for the 4 night I want.

You can call France cheaper by first dialing a number in England for example 0844 200 90 90 (this reduces the call cost to 0.5p per minute) and then dialing the reservations number

I've seen photos of the some of the suites in SL and they are lovely - some have large balconies (on a corner) and have great corner windows too. They look really nice. I did get a quote for one this coming trip and it was cheaper (not by much though) than the 3 nights standard room at DLH which I was surprised at as you do get the VIP FPs. I don't think you get much else mind you - not like ESC where you get private room for breakfast (with other ESC guests) and supposed characters at breakfast although I have read on another forum that this isn't as good as it should be!

I went with the DLH in the end as we have stayed there lots (but I am determined to try the SL sometime) and so my Mum was keen to stay there again, particularly given the location and it is winter.

Coincidentally, not sure if this is well known but you can use your AP and get a better price on suites. It just means you are paying for room & breakfast as opposed to a whole package - in the quote I was given it made a fair difference. Not sure this is applicable for ESC or CC though.... but I don't see why not .

ETA - there is a dedicated phoneline (In France) for suites & CC/ESC bookings.
