Dodge Caravan 7 days

I just called and got a Doge Caravan with Alamo for 7 days. Cost with tax is 286.20. Is that a good rate? Should I look for better rates somewere eles. We will be going Sept 12 -19. I found this rate in the entertainment book.

That's a very good rate.............we rented a caravan thru Enterprise.........and my company has a deal with enterprise thru some partnership agreement.....We paid $42.50 per day, before tax.......................and that was a great deal................

The Enterprise guy told me that their Caravan's are going for $82/day, full price......................

I got a minivan for $229/ week with Dollar. The closer you get the better price you will get. I waited until we were a month away before I booked. They are also right on the airport. This alone is worth tons of money. I have done the shuttle before - NEVER AGAIN. Cut into huge amounts of our time.

I believe that $229/week for a minivan is about the best you can do right now. You can get that price from Dollar for just about any week in 2004 that doesn't include a major Holiday if you use the KISS3 promo code.

I am quite sure that $229/week is Dollar's price before taxes and fees. By the time you add those in, you will be at or near the Alamo quoted price of $286, which does include taxes and fees.

FWIW, the Wall Street Journal had an article this morning that said all of the major car rental agencies are raising their leisure rental rates. Demand is up again.
