Doctors/Pharmacies Nearby?

Okay, we are down to 2 days before we leave for Disney. I have a sinus infection, but has an antibiotic and should be okay to fly by then. My daughter started showing symptoms yesterday that are the same as mine were. We just came home from the doctor's office. They wouldn't give her anything. Said it is just a virus. I got them to agree to fax me a perscription to a pharmacy if she gets worse next week.

Does anyone know of a pharmarcy that we can access easily? We are staying on the resort and won't have a car. I'm really hoping we don't need it, but.........

we've had prescriptions delivered right to our room. can't remember the pharmacy name but the hotel gave me the phone # and i had my doctor phone it in. no problems at all.

Hi, my name is Debbie, and I will NEVER win Mother of Year.

Our last trip to WDW, DS had a raging ear infection. Guess where his meds were? Yep, in the car, at BILs house, home in Massachusetts. . His peds offfice called in a new script to this Walgreens, and the pharmacist was a PEACH! Did not mix the meds til I came back, since our insurance declined it, since we had just filled the same scrip 3 days prior. He also gave me a card with his name and number, and the number of a walk in clinic should DS get worse.

When my family was at WDW this month my DD came down with a kidney infection. We went to the Care Centre. It was great. They have a van (with car seat) that picked us up about 20 minutes after I called. When they took us back, they took us by a Wal-Greens for the meds. Just know that it is open to everyone in the area, so the wait at the clinic can be very long. Luckily ours was only about 40 minutes. I hope everyone stays well and you don't have to experience the clinic.

I always take my dd to the Dr the week before we go. Our ped recommends that we bring her in for her ears to be checked. This way if she has a problem they can start her on something. Children are not suppost to fly with any ear problems ( their eardrums could be damaged or bust ).

SO, while she gets a clean bill of health, I ask the Dr this question.....

What happens if we get down there and she gets sick, hyper, or a virus???????


He sends me out the door with SAMPLE CITY... plus a script for phenogran gel ( hope I spelled that right.)

The phenogran gel is applied to the wrist and keeps a child calm for flight and helps with motion sickness... Also, he told me it helps with getting a child down for the night that is hyper!!!!!! It works on ADULTS TOO!!!! LOL

So, I say go to the ped and get samples and a script for the phenogran gel.....

wow, that is a great doc. Unfortunately our beloved pedi retired and in her absence we are in transition and stuck with other doctors in her practice I am less than thrilled with. Took my son a week ago for his 2 year old check up and a pretrip checkup as we are leaving in 5 more says. Supposedly he looked fine; wouldn't you know he has been coughing for the last 4 days. Now I have the dilema of do I bring him and they tell me it is just a virus to then expose him to more germs in the waiting room and probably end up needing mediacl care while we are away? Or do I not take him and worry it is something more than a virus?

My old pedi would've sent me armed with prescriptions for a back up plan...new dr. is a different story. Lucky if I get the meds when he really needs it!

I feel your pain OP. In the past 3 weeks I had 1 child hospitalized with pneumonia, 1 child who broke a collarbone and right now we have 2 kids with colds and I am recovering from double ear infections We are all traveling either on an antibiotic or with scripts for one in case we need it. My pediatrician is a gem and would call in something for us in a jif if we needed it.

It seems like when you have kids, someone is always having a crisis
