Yea, I'm the one with the sick DH and DS. We leave tomorrow and both are trying to recover. DS is actually feeling pretty good but DH is still fighting it. I was wondering if anyone knew of on-site care if you do get sick. I almost hated even posting this thread but I guess I should be better safe than sorry. Thanks so much for you input.

Still crossing my fingers that he will recoup overnight. Keep the pixie dust coming.

From what I have read on the boards, if you are staying onsite Disney can recommend Drs. that will make a roomcall-I think it is kind of expensive though. There are also numerous clinics around Disney that I have read and know someone that went too. They do accept insurance. Another thing you can do is a search on the boards to see what comes up for further information. Pixie dust to you for a healthy and happy trip!:wizard:

Any hotel CM's will be more than happy to contact an IN HOUSE Dr for you. I have heard that the price varies, but it is fairly expensive. I would call down there and locate an emergent care clinc nearby. JUST IN CASE!

There are also walk-in clinics that are not quite ER's. There is one right outside DD.

A doctor can come to your resort or there is the Buena Vista Walk in clinic which is near DTD.

Hoping for a healthy trip for you.

Several years ago our youngest DD came down with a double ear infection while we were at CBR. We used the doctor service that came to our room. Back then it wasn't too bad I didn't think. It was about 60.00 for the "house call" and he called the prescriptions in right from our room. They were hand delivered to our hotel room door later that afternoon.

I really hope he is feeling better and soon. Glad to hear your son is better. Also.. I hope YOU don't come down with it now. Good luck. :)

Well, we're off tomorrow and the pixie dust must STILL be working. My DH is still in the recovery stages. I did get him Zicam yesterday like someone suggested and he has taken it faithfully since last night. He does seem on the "mend" so with each hour, maybe things will really look up. I am really glad to hear that a doctor is available though. I figured they would be but didn't have any idea of how they would go about seeing someone.

DVC Jen: Wow, can't imagine your little one getting sick while you were there. I know it happens, but what a bummer. My DS is back at school and seems like he'll make it fine....just a little worried about my DH. He isn't one of those people that complains unless he is really sick.

Thanks again for all the valuable info.

There is a place for children that Doc. on call refered me to on April 25th. We called the Docs on call who the hotel recommends and uses and they are expensive 250 to start to come to the room. Since ours wasn't an emergency they told us about this place called Pedeatric After Hours Care. It is a clinic they except all insurance (they said there is only 2 they don't take) and they are very fast, efficent, and friendly. My DD had a double ear infection she got while we were there. They gave her the first dose of amoxcil and a perscription. We were in and out in 1 hr. Not bad at all. I have the directions to the place at home with the phone number I'll look for it and post it.

I used the Centra Care Urgent Care place outside DTD on April 21 to have sutures removed from my son's hand (a pre-trip accident). We got a brochure from First Aid Station, and it listed 3 different centers and their phone numbers. We were able to call ahead to judge wait times, and because they have a contract with our insurer, we only paid our usual $10 co-pay. The staff was very nice to deal with.

We have used the urgent care clinic in the Lake Buena Vista area more than once. They were great! Very comfortable place to go. At the time I was working in a local hospital ER so I figured I wouldn't be satisfied with the care. I was totally wrong. The nurse even called us the next day and left a message for us checking up to see how they were doing.

We paid our usual co-pay.

I sure hope you don't have to use all this advice you are getting!
