Do your shools start after labor day?

I am just curious, Our schools always start after labor day, around the 6-8th, but I noticed next year that labor day is on the 7th and that means that school wouldn't start until the 10th. (they always have 2 teacher in service days first) The 10th just seems late to me. I am trying to figure out my dates for next year without DS missing days from HS. (it's ok if he misses the first 2 but not more than that.) So I am figuring if I make my dates for 9-2 to 9-9 we will be good...

try calling your superintendants office. when i was planning my trip for this year i called just before xmas and they were able to tell me what day school started for this year. i dont know how early they have this info, but it seems they may already have it.

we always start after labor day, except for the 2006-2007 school year. of course i planned a disney trip for the first week of free dining. i had us coming home the day school started aug29th(i think, cant really remember) so i had to get us home the 28th. we got home about 10 the 28th and she was on that bus the next morning. it was horrible, i make sure we call now. i dont know why they started that early.

School in Michigan public schools always starts after Labor Day.

Wow, schools here start the middle of August, but we're out at the end of May. AJ's school didn't start till after Labor Day, but it's private and they don't get all the random days off the public schools here get.

We always start after Labor Day. It seems so weird that it falls on the 7th next year. Longer summer? I guess my daughter will start the 9th then.

In Wisconsin, there is actually a state law that prohibits any public school from starting students before Sept. 1... Special thanks to the tourism special interest groups for that one
