Saw a post on another thread about kids believeing in Santa Claus. My "kids" now young adults with developmental disabilties, still BELIEVE in Santa Claus, if you know what I mean. They are so innocent and get into the spirit of Christmas every year. It makes the season so much more special to see my boys really think Santa is going to bring them presents. They love decorating the house and tree, putting up the lights and we just have to have the inflatable Frosty the Snowman outside every year. It is hard on us trying to hide presents around the house ... this year the hiding place is a minivan in the driveway that we took off the road. Good thing it has lots of snow covering it alrerady! I cannot imagine that their belief will ever change considering their mental disabilities.
So, my questions is to all those parents who have kids with mental disabilities, do your "kids" still believe?
