Do your dogs howl?

My dog doesn't howl; she "Baroos"--typical of a Greater Swiss Mountain Dog. Do the Bernese do that? I saw an Entlebucher that did and figured all 4 in the family must do so.

Mine makes this sound too. Every time he hears a siren somewhere. Can be in the neighborhood or not. Even on tv he is compelled to do it EVERY time:lmao: Always gives me the giggles when he does. DH not so much. He's a Lhasa mix btw.

Our golden retriever howls whenever I am watching the Young & the Restless. She howls to the theme song.

All three of my dogs howl when the phone rings and I am not in the house to answer it...AND only if it's a call from someone I have been waiting to hear from. Freaky eh? I call them my secretaries.

my cat does....and no i'm not kidding. he HOWLS at the top of his lungs for HOURS on end sometimes and it drives me NUTS!!

and he's done it since he was a kitten, so it's not like it's anything new. the vet says some animals are just more vocal than others, and that DH and i were "blessed" with getting a vocal kitty......:rolleyes1

I have two that not only howl, they harmonize!!! The beagle/doxie mix taught the other one, who is a heeler/terrier mix. They're very entertaining!

We have two Redbone Coonhounds, and they would be considered "defective" if they didn't howl.:thumbsup2
However, the Shih-Tzu does not howl- he just barks and snarls.

Wow learn something every day..I have a redbone coonhound too and I guess he's defective never heard a howl...now our oldest Pointer does howl but very very rarely..:confused3 maybe they are confused or haven't read the manual....as far as OP my first thought was you named the dog Wylie...which made me think of Wylie E Coyote....self-fulfilling prophecy no ? :rotfl:

Our dog does more of a yodel then a howl. She is a mutt but looks like she has rat terrier and jack russell in her.

Urgh, my neighbor's dogs howl all the time and there are times I want to go into their house and lock the dogs in the bathroom until they get home. They gave me their key. I don't because... obviously... but I really want to.

I have 2 american eskimo dogs(male and female). My DS's "trained" Chloe to howl on command(mind you at the time I was working nights). They tell her, "Chloe, howl". And she does....problem is she doesn't stop right away. I always wondered how many treats it took to get her to do this.

My Beau will sit and bark his head off, when Chloe is howling.

I have come home and will hear the howling and barking, as I get out from the truck - leaving a radio turned on to music has taken care of this for now.
