Do you wrap Santa presents?

My DH says I am crazy, but here is what I do with wrapping presents. Did I say DH loves it even though he thinks I’m nuts.

No gift is wrapped in the same paper (unless it is going to a friend or being mailed out). Why? I don’t like to have any of the same paper under the tree. It sounds strange, but WOW it looks so cool. I buy a few (2-3) rolls of paper each year (after Christmas). I have two wrapping paper (upright) plastic holders (the kind you find in Target). I take the cardboard tube out of some of the rolls and roll them up smaller so they fit inside each other. I can have as many as four rolls inside one tube of another roll. With that said, I have at least 60 different types of paper each year. I have adult paper and children paper and a child will never get an adult paper as well as an adult will never get a childs paper. I know this sounds crazy, but it really does look great to have all different paper under the tree.

About Santa… he only wraps in his Santa paper (again all different). I have child and adult Santa paper because Santa always brings mommy and daddy a present also. The only gifts that are not wrapped would be bikes or big things like that. Also he has special gift tags (made off the computer) with his picture on it and the person's name on with a Love, Santa.

Is anyone else nuts like me?

Okay, definitely crazy, but sounds like SO much FUN!!!

Santa, at our house, always gets you something that Mom and Dad don't really approve of, or would NOT buy you! Last year he brought DD (then 7) a personal CD player that Mom had told her repeatedly she was too young for.

DH really understands Santa. When DD was 5 Santa brought her a bike. Well, there was nothing under the tree from Santa. :guilty: So when she wandered off after awhile, I asked her what was wrong. She said Santa had forgotten her. Suddenly, Grandpa opened the curtains to the sliding doors onto the back deck to take out the trash. AND there was the most beautiful turquoise bike with purple trim. An apple core and reindeer tracks were out there too! When DD went to take a nap later, matching training wheels were under her pillow! Who knew Santa was such a trickster!!

Every year Santa is left his favorite cookies, a very good imported beer (Daddy chooses :earboy2: ) and an apple for the Rudolph. They sprinkle magic reindeer food outside (oatmeal with glitter) on Christmas Eve. We always travel to my parents' on Christmas Eve, after spending the day at DH's parents. So my kids open presents for a solid 48 hours!

I've loved reading everyone's traditions. :grouphug:

Ok, so a few of you think I'm nuts.... but it looks great to have all different paper under the tree and I only buy 2-3 rolls per year (after Christmas), so the cost is kept low because I buy the paper on clearance.

I bet if some of you started this crazy and fun paper thing, you'll find it you'll love it also.

Thank you for making me smile tonight, I needed it.

Merry Christmas to all!!

All presents are wrapped, with Santa using a special, shiny paper. Stocking can be opened as soon as you get up, but the presents wait until after breakfast. One other thing we had growing up was a "busy bag". It was a bag filled with coloring books, crayons, books, cards, etc to keep us busy while we waited for everyone to get up and until it was time to open the presents. Each busy bag would have a variety of small games adn activites. As we got older, the bags would also have CDs, movies, magazines, etc. Each of us had a different bag with our names embroidered on them. The stockings would have things like perfume, lip balm, new tooth brushes, hair accessories, jewelry and lotion.

Santa has always left gifts unwrapped. Of course I'm usually asleep and don't hear him as he puts the gifts under the tree. :confused3 I just don't know how he does it!

Our family tradition in to go to grammas house christmas eve. While we are there we get to open the gift from them. Funny it is always a new pj set or robe to wear. Even for mom and dad. I think that is so we can look good in the pictures on christmas morning.... :goodvibes Aren't grandparents funny?

In our stocking are toiletries stuff like shampoo and make up and a few candy bars that we can eat at any time with out permission. And is not counted as our snack or treat for the day. This stuff is not wrapped.

All the gifts under the tree are wrapped. And Santa has his own special paper. We have to open them one at a time and take turns.

Santa also leaves us stuff to have for breakfast. His note usualy says something about how the special snack (More than just silly cookies) we left him was good so we should have some breakfast. Last year he left a mickey waffel maker.

Many of you have mentioned "special" Santa paper. Is that paper with Santas on it, or just anything different from what the family gifts are wrapped in? I used to not wrap Santa gifts but am going to do so this year. I figure it will slow my kids down! Actually, one year I did wrap the Santa gifts and it got almost tedious unwrapping all the gifts, but that year the kids weren't on overload. Actually, they left some gifts for the next day. Well, today I start wrapping. I've got 3 days left with the kids still in school, and I can't wrap with them home or they'll figure it out. Last night my dh said I'd better stop shopping and start wrapping! Wonder if that was when he opened the closet (kept locked!) where I store the kids presents and several fell out on his head! :rotfl:

Santa has special paper...sometimes it has a self portrait sometimes not(usually santa tries to leave a hint with the paper as to what's in there...ie one Christmas was everything princess so the wrap had Disney Princesses on it) This year Santa is bringing a dvd player/movies/and a dvd game....not sure where he is going to find paper to give hints on that one. You know I think I am the only one who notices the hints....think Santa and I are on the same wave length :confused3 It is just a paper that nobody has ever seen...and like I said before if there is any left over mom gets that as a present...aren't I lucky? :rotfl:

(Actually, I think we had to have breakfast first, too, otherwise it was too hard to get us to settle down and eat!)

I think this sounds like child abuse. :confused3 :wave2: :earboy2:

Santa wraps here too. Even some presents that go in the stocking.

Everything is wrapped...

We have santa sacks that we leave out to be filled. With our Santa presents. Wrapped in Santa paper.. (we don't use any other paper with Santa on it). Stocking gifts are wrapped...

Then the kids know all gifts not in Santa paper are from Mom and Dad. So the kids don't think Santa brings everything.

Also so I can shop for Daddy with the kids....

DS4 caught me wrapping stocking stuff and I said that Santa sent me an e-mail and asked if I could help him out a bit. As he can't come to our house in NY this year. He has to come and see us In California on our vacation.
DS4 has also gotten into the spirit of Giving and not just getting. Which I think is a plus...

Also I admit.. I still belive in Santa... The gift of Christmas and the love and peace.

Santa wraps everything in special "Santa" paper. Since we only have one kiddo, there's no need for nametags and writing.(Except for Santa's thank you for the cookies note.)
Everything else is wrapped in the same paper with the same bows- this year it's candy cane paper with white tulle bows. Santa doesn't wrap the stocking stuff.

I do the same thing!!!! I love having all different kinds of paper. DH laughs at me every year buts secretly loves it himself. Santa always wraps Santa gifts.

We use plain red paper from Santa and writes the name in black marker although I may have to go to computer tags as my kids get older. This year Santa is going to leave the big gift unwrapped but in the past everything has been wrapped.

DH and I have stockings, too, so Santa leaves gifts wrapped in red paper for us! That is lots of fun.
