Hi there! I was just wondering if anyone worked with vintage typewriter keys? If so, how on earth did you get them off??? I'm afraid to mess it up! Thanks!!!!
the trick with the keys are to use a dremel with a fiberglass cut-off wheelhttp://www.dremel.com/en-us/attachments-and-accessories/attachment-accessory-detail.htm?H=188549&G=66367&I=66371, (wear saftey glasses as all cut-off wheels have a habbit of shattering). I'll post some pictures of ones that i've cut off. You may also try bolt cutters, it will take longer to do it this way but still effective. Oh and the typewriters do handle quite a bit of stress and 'man handling'.
Aww thanks so much!!! I got a big Lot of old typewriters at an auction and wanted to start with these, but of course i had no clue how to take them off I will have my husband do it, since he has these tools! Thanks again!!!
