I have used the OLD Revlon ColorStay forever. I loved it and never had any problems. Will now they've changed it to Colorstay with this new Boto-Firm or whatever. Its not the same and I can't stand it!!!!

So I'm off on the hunt for a new foundation. I don't want anything expensive. I would love to be able to find Cover Girl or Maybelline but I have no idea what to try.

Any advice?

I have never used foundation until this year. That was when I tried Bare Minerals. I couldn't believe that a foundation didn't have to LOOK LIKE a foundation!

I have spent my life looking at other women's foundation and going :scared: I couldn't stand the look! So, I never wore it. When I changed jobs last year I noticed ALL of the women around me, most were over 40, had FLAWLESS skin. Wow! What a great looking lucky bunch of women, I thought.

I overheard my nearest co-worker talking about Pro Activ solution to another co worker. I was amazed because I thought they all had this beautiful skin. One woman claimed she had marks from adult acne and the other said she had rosacea! I was STUNNED! Both were introduced to Bare Minerals by the studio's make up artist. The artist promised to do my face for my 50th birthday. I actually went to Ulta and had it done myself.

Wow! I fell in love with this stuff! I bought the starter kit for $50 but only use the foundation, which I now buy on eBay for $5.00 to 11.00. It's the best foundation I've ever found that looks like you're wearing nothing at all.
:teeth:

When I do wear it, nothing but Clinique touches this face. I actually prefer a face bronzer over foundation.

Robin did they use the Proactive and THEN the Bare Minerals or did they have the acne and rosecia and the B.M. covered it up?

I have been using BM for about the last 7 years. I had always purchased it through QVC. About a year ago Sephora stores started carrying it. I use the whole line, eyeshadows, blushes, etc.

Sunday DH and I went to a flea market. It had to be over 90 degrees by the time we left. When I got home my makeup was still flawless.

Regarding QVC - I would suggest trying BM from them. If you don't like it, or any product for that matter, you can return it in 30 days for your money back, no questions asked.

QVC also sells Proactive.

I swear they just make shopping Way to EASY for me LOL!

I'm a Bare Minerals girl, too! I am so happy I found it- it is perfect for my sensitive skin. I also bought mine on ebay and have been totally happy with it. My DH even noticed a difference, and he NEVER notices anything!

I use Clinique Work Out Makeup. It is sweatproof but light and very gentle. I break out with just about everything, but not this. Also has sunscreen - using it, even when going swimming or at a NASCAR race, I've never had a burn. It also seems to last twice as long as the Revlon stuff does - so in the end I don't think I actually spend any more.

My favorite is Neutrogena Healthy Skin... it looks really natural and feels light.

I have a hard time finding foundation light enough for my "porcelain" pale skin. The Clinique lady actually turned me away when I went looking! She flat out admitted they had nothing that would match me. :(

Bare Minerals user for over 2 years now. No other makeup will ever go on my face again!:)

I was a Clinique girl, now a Bare Minerals convert.

I'm really curious- there are always a lot of Bare Minerals users who answer these. Are they a majority, or just always willing to talk about it?

I think I want to see a poll to find out...

Mary Kay girl here.
I tried Bare Minerals, and never could get the hang of it. Maybe I should try again? People here love it so much!

I have combination skin, and Bare Minerals has never really done the job for me. I think that the oilier regions of my face tend to look very caked-on/flat with it, plus, I travel a lot for work, and the makeup really travels poorly (a loose lid is fatal to your luggage).

I love MAC Studio Fix. Great coverage, incredible color range, brainless to apply.

Both used the BM to cover up the problems but I swear I could see NO discoloration or anything. The makeup artist that works with us does all of the makeup for our productions so she had a huge collection of all kinds of professional makeup but SWEARS by BE.

Clinique Balanced for more than 20 years. I tried something cheaper once and hated it. Also tried Mary Kay when a neighbor was selling it -- she let me take her entire sample kit and try several kinds, but nothing was close to the Clinique.

BTW, I think it was $8 when I started buying it. :rotfl:

Bare escentuals or the equivalent from Arbonne. Is there any other kind for the true diser?
