Do you use your turn signal

I almost always use my turn signal, even when no one is around. It's just automatic.

all the time, keeps me in the habit of doing it. Drives me crazy when other people don't.

Yes, always. The law in Minnesota is that it is a turn signal indicator and must be activated at least 100 feet before your turn (my BIL is a police officer and we were just discussing this issue). That 100 feet includes the time BEFORE you move into a turn lane, not after you move into the turn lane.

I do out of habit. Sometimes I think that drivers feel as if turn signals are an added "option" they can use or not. ;)

I usually do, more out of force of habit than anything else, even if no one is around.

The police officer wasn't stopping him because he didn't use his turn signal. The police officer was stopping him to check if the reason that he didn't use his turn signal was because he was high, drunk or something else. Often times, people who are impaired in some way "forget" to do the basic habits of driving, and the "not using the turn signal" is the police officer's reason to stop him, since if a police officer stops someone without a reason, he or she gets accused of racial profiling, or age profiling or gender profiling or something.

Obviously your DH wasn't impaired, so no harm, no foul.

Personally, I like it when the police officers in my town do their job.

Now, you may all begin the tirades about how a house got robbed and no police were around, or where are they when such-and-such happpens...probably at the donut shop.

Just remember who you think of calling when something happens to you.

LOL!! My mom will say, "You know it's amazing that they stopped putting turn signals on all these new cars!!"

I always use my turn signal. It doesn't matter if I am the only car on the road. It bugs the crap out of me when people don't use theirs.

It almost bugs me as much when a driver does the--turn it on to flash once and turn it off as he/she switches lanes.

My BIL does this and it drives me nuts.

I always do when no cars are around. Then it becomes a habit and I don't forget to use them in a busy intersection.

I use mine out of habit, and also when turning into my driveway too.
Blinkers are optional in Massachusetts! A lot of people don't use them. But I absolutely LOVE when someone doesn't shut theirs OFF!!!!! are you actually turning???

Gee, I know how to multi-task~let me be a mind-reader!

Here's another weird turn signal situation:

My husband had to take the driving test last year to get an American drivers license.... he was instructed to parallel park in between two cones (this was in a roped off section of a parking lot.) He actually lost points on his test because he didn't use his turn signal to do that!!!

No weird at all. When parallel parking one is changing the cars lane and must signal their intent to do that.

Actually, my husband says this too. :rotfl2: It really does bug him when people don't use their turn signals. Go figure.

He sent me an email this am telling me that he used his turn signal to turn into our garage (at the end of our long driveway.) So he's learned his lesson. :teeth:
