Do you use a fanny/waist pack?

Oh and this year we saw someone in front of us that had a huge back pack. She had it crammed with food and huge heavy bottles of water. You could tell it was killing her back, she kept moving it around. She even popped out apples for all her kids in line. LOL I don't know, it's nice having that kind of thing on you, but I can't imagine lugging that around all day!

So, a fanny pack it is, no matter how out of style.
Hey, you'll be glad you choose a fanny pack, although most are front packs. We each wear one when ever we're in the park. DS carries his autograph book & pen, a camera, spending $ and his own rain poncho (not as important in CA as it is in FL). DH & I carry tickets, credit cards, bandaids, ponchos, etc. Depending on the season we might tie a sweatshirt around our waist.

We gave a back pack a try but besides it being very hot, we got tired of having to take it on and off, and having to stow it on rides.

We got our packs at Disney. They have a good selection of packs for adults and kids. You can't beat them for convenience, and as for fashion -- you'll never see those people again any way... that is unless you have a lime green Mickey on to meet the DIS folks. ::yes::

Exactly my thoughts. I will have a backpack for diapers, change of clothes, snacks.....but we'll have our stroller so we can just leave it in the stroller most of the time. I just want a fanny (or front) pack to keep the things that we don't want to leave behind when we go on the rides like cash, credit cards, etc.

I use a waist pack, my wallet, purell go in it. :cool1:

That sounds a bit like me. My backpack isn't all that big, but I do carry quite a bit of water. It's just cheaper than buying drinks, or trying to find a fountain in the parks. I also carry some snack for a quick pick me up during the day.

ALl of us wear fanny packs but only at DL-lol. I would not be caught dead with one anywhere else. DD (6) bought the cute pooh fanny pack at DL lasy year and she and ds both carry all their own stuff. They bring their sunglasses, a small water bottle and snacks and their gameboys all for waiting in line. I have a small one and carry the cash, tickets, FP and camera and even DH who hates it, wears one to carry the "overflow" like extra drinks. The best part of the fanny pack is that you do not have to take them on and off to get on rides, at the most, just turn it to the side a bit for lapbars like on Space. If it is winter, we do take extra clothes and stash them in a backpack in the lockers.

I bought myself a good one when we went to WDW 7 years ago. It made it thru that trip and the one to DLR last year.

Last year I bought one for my older son, too. His had a small mesh pouch where he could store a water bottle.

The nice thing about these are that they're in front, so you don't have to worry about pick pockets. They're roomy enough to carry tickets, money, the camera, and sunscreen lotion wipes and hand sanitizer wipes (the individually wrapped packets). That's all I felt that I needed while in the park.

My outlook is that nobody is going to Disney to spend time looking at me...and if they do and have an issue with my fanny pack, that's too danged bad. Function over fashion!

When i go, i use a small over-the-shoulder type bag that is as small as a fanny pack. I dont like wearing fanny packs because on some rides they interfere with the restraints which makes it uncomfortable. The bag i use goes to the side so it's easier to use with lap bars and seatbelts on rides.

No I don't need to bring that much stuff into the parks. Plus those things are ugly there's no way I would wear one.

We all wear them - except DH - I think WDW and now DL is the only place we do wear them but they are great. It keeps your hands free and you have your stuff on the rides without worrying about it. I think the only time I took mine off was Space Mt. in MK, but I could be wrong. I keep a small bottle of water in mine and each of the children has their bottle of water and autograph book and maybe a snack or two. Works great. We also carry a backpack which Dh carries or we put in a locker. A good tip is to get one with an outside pocket for money, credit cards etc.

I have a fanny pack that is somewhat large with two waterbottle holders that does make by butt look fat, but also has a long shoulder strap. So I can carry it like a purse if I choose, although after awhile I forget to care how I look and am into comfort and just strap it on.

I used Eagle Creek's "Piccadilly" style bag on our recent trip to Dland and it was perfect! It's got a long, adjustable strap so I could wear it over my body and be "hands free" but still know it was secure. It conforms to your body and is so light. But, surprisingly, it holds quite a bit. It has an open side pocket for a cell phone that was deep enough that I didn't feel like the phone was going to fall out. It has two zippered compartments and a padded pocket. I put my money, hotel key and credit card in the small pocket and then a small bottle of sunscreen, my digital camera, comb, etc in the larger main compartment. The open pocket fit the park maps really nicely.

I found that I could wear it and buckle it into the rides without fear of it flying away. Although, I did take it off and stow it in the ride's pouch for CA screaming and Space.

Here's a link to the eagle creek site. I found it at a local travel store for $19. Best of all, eagle creek products seem to hold up really well.

I just hope a backpack wont get in the way on most rides. Cause I bought one, for both my video camera and digital. Id probably wear a fanny pack, but my video cam wont fit in it. So I just hope that most rides have a place to put my bag. Even if its attached to my foot on rides such as Splash Mountain.

Not a fan of the fanny back here either ;) I bring my Camelbak (backpack, water w/straw) and my girls 5 and 7YO have their own camelbaks that they bring too. Theirs are kid size and the backpack part is just beig enough for their hat, sunglasses, sunblock, sweater, and a small snack.

I don't use anything that makes my butt look bigger. :rotfl:
Oh my... I would never wear it on the back! On the front where it can hide a few vacation pounds... that's a little different. :goodvibes

I would reccomend a Baggalinni (sp?).
They are a line of backpacks and purses that are supposed to be functional as well as fashionable.
I recently ordered a Baggalini messenger style backpack from QVC.com and its great! Here is the link !
Anyway, its very lightweight (as long as you don't overload it with stuff), has tons of pockets and hidden compartments, and is water resistant. That can be helpful for wet rides and rainy weather. The best part is the mesh holder on the side thats made for a water bottle!

I have an over the shoulder bag that I got at Eddie Bauer. I wear it across my body. Hands free and secure. It has lots of compartments, for money cards, ect. I have even loaned it out to friends that needed a bag. If I cant go at least my bag can. ;) I would wait til I got to the park and I would get the one they sell. I have seen it around town a couple of times and think. Darn it. I should have gotten that!! It is sooo cute.

WE use a fannypack, just for money, a small purel. I like having my money in front of me and not in a back pack. I bring my camcorder so I also can put the digital camera in that. I dont have smal kids, just two adults so that might be a big difference :sunny:

I bring a fanny pack, but I keep fantasizing that one day, I'll be able to fit everything into the pockets of some cargo pants. I'd love to zip right into the park without stopping for the bag search. Sometimes, the search line moves quickly, but sometimes, it's slow. My problem, is that my two teen Ds's always hand me their sunglasses as we're going onto rides. (They hate to wear their glasses on strings.) Last June, my 16 year old had his expensive Oakley sunglasses on a string, hanging around his neck while on The Haunted Mansion, and when he got off, they were gone! He went back and asked the CM at the entrance to see if someone turned them in, and we also filled out a form at City Hall on the way out, but the glasses were never returned. So, in conclusion, I'd rather wear my bulky fanny pack, than risk losing things by trying to put them in pockets or on strings. I guess I'll see you guys in the bag check line! :wave2:

Cargo pants and pocket tees. I hate carrying too much 'stuff'. IF i'm not wearing cargos, then i've got a small fanny pack. Can't find my Darkwing Duck fanny pack though.
