I don't do ....... undies outside because they get too stiff but everything else is fair game. Another added bonus is my laundry will get done faster. I can put one load of wash in the dryer and the next outside so I am not always waiting for the dryer to finish.
:laundy: I hate laundry.

Yes! I can get all of the laundry done in one day. Cannot do that if I use the dryer bc. each load takes 45+ mins to dry.

I, too, don't hang undies out on the line. Just too much of a private thing, the undies. Plus, it's more work to hang out lots and lots of little things. So I put all the little things like undies and small cloths in one load and use the dryer for that.

Use clothesline alot. Hard part was finding a decent clothesline. They were all the flimsy umbrella type.

My HOA has restriction on clotheslines too. But the bottom line is if they can't see it from the street then I can hang all the g-strings I have out anythime. :teeth:

I only use a dryer. I don't like to see clothes hanging in other people's yards around me, especially their underwear! Also, I don't like the thought of pollen, bird droppings and dirt getting on my clean clothes. When I was a teenager and lived at home, my mother hung the clothes out to dry in the warm weather & I would always re-wash mine. I hated the way the smelled from being hung out to dry.

Can't really answer the poll. I live in Florida and due to the humidity the clothes would take too long to dry. I have used drying racks outside in cooler low humidity temps like in late fall/winter/early spring.

But for the summer--IMPOSSIBLE. I think my clothes would dry faster in a thunderstorm.

No. They would dry fast but they would be covered in dirt/dust with all the wind storms we get here in the summer.

Add me to the list of those who hang their clothes out. If it's 50 degrees or warmer in the morning, our laundry goes out on the line. We love the fresh air smell. And with the wind blowing almost constantly, the laundry usually ends up almost as soft as it would being done in the dryer.

I wondered about the humidity thing.
DD just came back from Connecticut and made sure she let me know she had no choice but to pack her towel still damp. She left it out to dry - but with no luck.

Another AZ gal here ;)
We back to a preserve, I thought that would be a good thing :confused3
What it really means is that we get dirt, dust and desert critters like crazy!

I'd most likely find a snake sunning himself on my clean laundry
(I've had them wrapped around my balcony railing before)

Have not checked on clotheslines specifically in my HOA bible  but I have no doubt that there are restrictions.
Sticking with the dryer.

Definately a clothsline spring summer and fall. There's a drastic difference in my gas/electric bill when I quit using the dryer. Part of the savings funds our Disney trips so I'll be happy to hang 'em out and take 'em down! As for the birddroppings and bugs....never have had a problem with that. Freshly washed sheets from the line are wonderful!

We have a gas dryer and our gas bill is 12.00 a month...I think that is money well spent for not having to deal with dirt from the outside and board stiff Jeans and towels from being hung up outside. I just don't like how hard everything feels when hung outside, espeically sheets, I like mine nice and fresh out of the dryer.

For some reason, my towels don't get stiff when I hang them out, but maybe that is because I use fabric softener on them even though I shouldn't :confused3

I must agree though, I hang a lot of things out, but I will not hang anything that is denim because it gets horribly stiff!
