DH got me Tivo for Christmas. When I opened it, I didn't know what it was. Now that I've found out, I can't stop! To me, Tivo clearly is the best thing since sliced bread!!

I have programmed it to record my weekly favorites. I love being able to watch them skipping the commercials and being able to pause and rewind "live tv". My Tivo To Do List is getting pretty long. Never will I miss CSI, Survivor, Newlyweds or ANYTHING ever again!!

Do you Tivo and if so, what do you tivo?

I bought one for DH for Christmas. We love it too. I TIVO old movies, he does his favorite movies, I program Sex In The City...we are having lots of fun with it. And it is so easy to operate.

I've had my TIVO for 6 months...I love it....

Tivo has changed my life. LOL!

I know that sounds so stupid to the people that will read that statement and don't own a Tivo, but hey I don't care! It's the TRUTH!

No more fighting over the remote control! No more "what did she just say??" No more "oh man, where is a blank tape when you need one?" No more "why do we have to watch what you want to watch?" No more sitting through 5 minutes of commercials at a time! No more..."why does the phone ring just as it's getting good?!?!" and best of all....No more forgetting to hit the record button on your favorite show...why? Because Tivo will remember and know what shows you will want to watch later! :p I highly suggest that everyone on the planet should have one! Even if you only watch 1 hour of TV a week!

So to answer your question, I have season passes on Sex and the City, Friends, Smallville, and of course All My Children:p

My husband and I bought a Tivo as our big present to each other Christmas 2000. I love it!! I work at night so I am able to still see all my favorites. The only problem is you get spoiled and don't want to watch regular TV after a while because you can't forward through the commericals and rewind when needed!

another "tivo has changed our lives" household here. seriously.

i am actually able to keep up with most of my shows even though i am in school and working full-time. it's great, and it's completely revolutionized the way we watch tv.

We got Tivo last Christmas (2002). Life before it seems like a fuzzy memory.

I have found that we watch less TV now. We're not sitting in front of the TV during commercials. We're not sitting in front of the TV flipping through channels trying to find something to watch. In the evenings, we sit down and watch stuff that has recorded earlier that day or the previous evening.

I love the Wish Lists feature. I am a huge fan of Agatha Christie and movies based on her books. My Christie wish list lets me know if one of those movies or shows is coming on. It's great!

Our Tivo regulars are the Simpsons, Ctiy Confidential, Leaders and Legends, SG-1, Poirot, Sopranos, Six Feet Under, Futurama and Family Guy. If there's ever a special or movie that looks promising, we just set to record and watch it later.

I heard on CNN that commercials were in danger of being Tivo-ed out of existence. I can believe it.....:D

I bought DH a TIVO for Christmas and we are still learning how to use it be we love it. I can't wait until we go out of town and really try it out. We had a problem with the one that I bought and we had to take it back and get another one so we are a little behind getting to use it.

DH got me tivo for Christmas this year. Still learning how to use it. But, we definitely do love it.

DH got me a Tivo for Chanukah. He has programmed it for all of HIS wishlists. LOL I am recording some of my stuff too, but I will still use my Vcrs at will.

It is easier to use than the VCR too.

I don't usually watch tv through the Tivo. I record stuff and then watch it later.

I LOVE my TiVo!!! It's about the only product that I've ever had that really lives up to all the hype. I have lots of season passes, and I love being able to keep up with my favorite shows. Plus, I never had a VCR tape when I needed one, and it's super to not have to worry about that anymore. One of my friends has a DVR that came with her satellite, and it's nowhere near as cool as TiVo, LOL!

I must resist TECH TOYZ!

Alas! Another TIVO addict here!::yes:: My only problem is I don't have time to watch all my shows! (DH upgraded the hard drive, and now we have too much to watch and way to little time.
Kind of like buying a book. What you are really buying is the delusion that you'll have time to read it! ) But you can breeze through the commercials, which shortens the actual viewing time. But you can also pause to do whatever, so it's about a wash. Commercials do serve an important function in TV land. Little girl room breaks!:p

Keep the Faith!
Tracy

I am beginning to wonder if there is anyone who got Tivo that doesn't think it's great. Somehow I doubt it!

I'm glad that I'm not the only one lovin' the Tivo!!

another TIVO fiend here! Trying to convince my parents to get one now that the Directv ones are $100.

I tivo... Dr Phil, Oprah, Mad About You, Unwrapped and more!

We have ReplayTV, which is just like TiVo. Luckily, we bought our unit before they removed the commercial skip from the newer units. I love my commercial skip! Press one button and zoom! the commercial is over!

robinb:
Is replaytv the one that is used for HDTV? I believe Tivo doesn't do well with High Def. Tv

My mom and stepdad bought me one for Xmas and I absolutely love, love, love it!! I cannot believe I ever lived without it. I used to tape A LOT. All My Children, One Life to Live, General Hospital, Las Vegas, Friends, ER, CSI, and West Wing. As you can imagine this required lots of tapes. I had the 8 our variety and if I fell behing watching the soaps I would have 5 different tapes and alsways had a hard time keeping them straight. NOW - I season pass them all and never worry.

I had a bit of a problem because we have a High Definition DirecTv receiver on our widescreen and in order to Tivo you would have to switch the mode from HD to SD. So I gave in and took the second receiver out of our bedroom and put it on top of the HD DirecTV receiver. Now it works perfectly.

DH is seriously considering upgrading the hard drive but I am afraid that if he open the lid it may void the warranty if anything goes wrong.

Anyway - I will never go back - TIVO forever.

LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!

We have it in our bedroom and I want one for downstairs too LOL. We used to tape everything so it is perfect for us!

I just got TIVO for Christmas and I love it!!! I haven't programmed it yet, we are having a little trouble since the tv is 12 years old, lol. We going to get a new tv when we get our tax return!!When I can progam it, I will record Alias, ER, CSI, Friends, Survivor, that's all I can think of now.

We ALL love our Tivo in my family. We are big reality T.V. fans, so we Tivo them all. Also, Dr. Phil, Oprah, Starting Over etc. I don't know how we lived without it. If we could afford it, we would have one on every T.V.
