Do you tip???

Do you tip the people that deliver your furniture?
We bought a new mattress and bedroom suite and we are having it delivered. So we don't know what to tip (if any) when they deliver it.
So please help us figure it out. Thanks

We always tip. Usually $5 per person. Maybe more if they go out of their way to be polite, clean up, etc.

Moving furniture is literally back breaking work. Plus you are in FL? Must be hot down there already.

They would really appreciate whatever you can spare

Yes I usually offer them a cold drink and give them 5-10 bucks each. I do live on the 3 floor, so they have a tough job!

We do. We had a bed delivered about a week ago and tipped $20. There were 2 men who delivered it--but the tip would have been the same if there were more guys--we just hand it to the lead guy and figure they will split all the tips at the end of the day.

My ex worked for American Mattress. Most people do not tip so you can do whatever you feel comfortable with.

Yes I tip in this situation. I would base it on what they do and how they do it.

Nope, I generally am paying plenty in a delivery fee so no tip from me.

No tip here. Most of the deliver guys here are union, making $10 an hour more than I do....and while it is very hard work......I just can't justify a tip under those circumstances.

I usually tip them. If they smash it up against the wall or do a bad job I would not, but usually I tip them. It depends on how much cash I have on hand, but I figure enough for them to get some pizza or something for lunch. Around $5 each, maybe 10 if it is something big and heavy. Spread the good karma.

I usually tip. We generally shop at 2 independent furniture shops and their delivery guys are great. I tip about $5 each and tell them to have a beer on me after work. If they're doing a lot like carrying something heavy upstairs and assembling a piece I'll give more.

Nope. I delivered furniture for 4+ years when first out of high school and tips were few and far between. Cold drinks when it was hot were were nice though.

I do as long as they don't break or damage my house. $10 pp.
