Do you tip at "Chilis to Go" type places?

I'm curious, did any of these people who tampered with customer food in an unsanitary manner ever get caught by the customer or management? I'd guess if management caught them, they'd be fired. If the customer caught them, I'd guess (a) they'd no longer be a customer and (b) they'd tell management.

How can you be sure that just because someone has a record of not tipping that today won't be the day they WILL tip?

for those who "do things to people's food".....is this after the first time that you receive no tip? and have you thought about if extraordinary service was given a tip might come naturally?

I have YET to place a to go order from a restaurant and receive even good service.....this includes....

Olive Garden
Sam Seltzer's
Ruth Chris
Longhorn
Applebee's
Chili's

and this was a first time basis....no need to remember me or my family on the to go basis to do something to my food.....

I personally didn't do anything ot anyones food but I know the others that did never got fired..it was simply an "oh I'm sorry is your food to salty, peppery etc.." if they even bothered to call back to complain. I do remember this one address that always ordered 2 pizzas with everything on it and 2 bottles of soda and the guy always gave me a 20.00 tip! I would be sure that his pies were always done right with extra of everything on them and his order would go to the front of the delivery line!

Realistically I'm sure some crap happens. I just feel sorry for the people that actually take the time to keep lists and then stoop to such levels.

Just to clarify:

I NEVER saw anyone at the Applebees I worked at do ANYTHING to anyone's food or drink. It was another restaurant. It also had nothing to do with take-out orders, it had to do with being a rude customer.

No, but I'm sure I'll be in the minority on this one.

Not me. What am I tipping for? I walked in and picked up the food from the person at the register. I dont tip the person at the Macy's counter so to me this is no different. If I am picking it up, I did the serving myself.
