Do you think there won't be AP discounts

Do you think there won't be AP discounts for Jan. 17-23? I tried to get a standard room at rack rate for my parents (we already booked ours months ago) at WL today. There were no standard rooms available. Do you think this means they won't include standard room rates at WL if they come out for Jan. or do you think they just aren't releasing standard rooms right now. I am very confused. We have never had a problem booking a standard room at WL in Jan. before. It isn't even during MLK weekend or during the marathon. Does anyone have any reassuring thoughts?

I believe there will be discounts, but as always, not in every catagory. Since standard rooms at WL are usually booked up, they sometimes are not included in the discount pool. A lot of folks tend to think if they book at rack rate, that will guarantee them that room if discounts are released, but in reality, it hurts them. Disney sees those rooms booked and decide they don't have to discount them. Often when we have gotten a discount at WL, it's usually been in a different catagory. In order to get a discount, there has to be a discount available for your catagory. Flexiblity is the key to getting a discounted room at WDW.
