Does anyone think there will be increase in Disney bookings with the stimulus rebate? With the new word that the money will be going out in May/June, I am thinking that Disney will be even busier for a few months. And the even more paranoid me is thinking that Disney may hold off on free dining for August/September...with so many people getting a windfall <sort of> why offer the discounts?

Anyway..do you think this may increase the crowds/decrease the chance of discounts?

Personally, I would think that Disney would offer a great special to get everyone to spend those checks there. Everyone has a choice on what they can use that extra money for. It's all about creative advertisment on the parts of the businesses.

Well, I hope you are right! I know I am taking my whole rebate to Disneyworld..hoping I am the only one, of course! :rotfl:

I think a lot of people are getting very nervous about the economy. I'm not sure that the rebates will be enough to get too many people making plans they didn't already have.

I know a lot of people that are probably going to pay their bills and try to put food on the table first.Personally, I think the economy has people so afraid right now that I don't think the stimulus pkg is going to work the way the government wants it to , and the rate gas is going up many people will probably stay home.:goodvibes

Well, I for one represent the other side of the coin. I had been wavering about a trip for months, but the annoncement of the rebate pushed me over the edge. We are booked for CBR 5/3 - 5/9. While I agree that the rebate probably won't cause too many people who were not planning a trip to suddenly "Do Disney", I think that there will be plenty of people like myself who just needed a little incentive to take action. As for the stimulus package itself, I think the results will be much like they were in the past. About half of the money will actually make it into the economy, and it will provide a small boost.

With the impending rate cut, the dollar might as well hit depression era devaluation. Couple that with massive hidden (bipartsan covered up) inflation, huge federal debt, out of control spending, jobs disappearing, unemployment costs up, taxes going up, savings interest rates going down, taxes on investment returns going up... tough times are gonna be upon us.

I agree!
I also feel bad for the people who in the future will have to PAY FOR THIS!
There is " No free lunch (money)".........:scared1: :scared1:
