Do you think there will be a Duggar/Bates Wedding?

That was just Josh and Anna though. No other Duggars were there so why would Anna's family be invited?

They all found that out the same way at the same time if they were watching. It's not like Anna's family was left out - kwim?

Actually the Duggers were "there" remotely. There were visiting the Bates and had a film crew there. So they were not "in person" but there were part of the announcement show.

I love watching the Duggar family too.

I too think they'll be a romance too between the two families. I always thought that Josh, the eldest son and one of the prettiest Bates girl would been a beautiful couple, the girl with the dimples, don't recall her name.

I see the second son, whatever his name is, is too camera shy, low confidence and doesn't talk enough for him to be coupled with the pretty girl (with the dimples).

Let's wait and see on this.

I don't watch much of this show, DD watches it sometimes in total puzzlement.
I wonder tho, do they not encourage the kids to continue with their educations? They are all about homeschooling, music etc. but do they push college or even tech/trade school for both the boys and the girls? The oldest one got married, works at Dad's car lot and Anna stays home, do either of them have any skills or upper education?

For those with questions about Anna and her background. It's from Josh and Anna's website.

n 1994, Mr. Keller got called for jury duty. While in the juvenile court, he immediately saw the great need for Christ in the lives of those in trouble with the law. He started volunteering at a local JDC (Juvenile Detention Center) and his heart was instantly burdened for the juveniles. In 1996, Mr. Keller made the decision to leave his good job to work as a full time missionary to the incarcerated. They spent months on deputation and God blessed them with many faithful supporters. Working in JDC's, county jails, and state correctional facilities he began to see God working in the hearts of those who are locked up.

Anna continued her studies at home and she frequently helped teach Sunday school & AWANA in her church. Anna graduated from High School at the age of sixteen, and often went with her father to minister to the young girls in the JDC. Anna continued with higher education and in 2008 received a B.A. Degree in Christian Education.

As for someone saying that the Duggars had more education then the Bates. Neither of the Duggars have post secondary education according to their book. I'm reading it right now.

According to their book the 2nd oldest son (John David) graduated and is working with Joshua at the car lot. His twin Jana also completed high school but the only mention of what she is doing is making lunch which Michelle homeschools. :confused3

That is Josh's car lot, not dad's. He bought it and opened it himself from money he earned working for a family frind who owned a car lot. Anna was working at the lot with him. I don't know if she is now or not, but she was.

I think I have missed quite a bit, I haven't seen many episodes since they announced Anna's pregnancy. I need to catch up. Maybe I can with my work schedule change.

Definitely not lazy children that have had everything handed to them on a silver platter.. They have very strong work ethics - something to be admired in this day and age..:thumbsup2

On a recent show, Mama Dugger said that when Josh said "I DO", they cut him off financially.;) He's his own "man" now and head of his own home.

You are right about that. I admire them in that sense, even thought I don't always agree with their lifestyle, they have some great kids and children today need some of what they are teaching.

The Bates, both Kelly and Gil, are college graduates. Jim Bob and Michelle granduated from High School. Obviously, since the Duggars have their TV show, of course they have more money than the Bates. It's my opinion that a marriage between John David and Michaela Bates or Priscilla Keller would be more appropriate than a JD/Erin Match. Michaela already volunteers in her local fire department, as does John David. She is also less outgoing/quiet than Erin, as is John David. Priscilla seems kind of 'tomboyish' and down to earth, which would be consistant with JD's lifestyle. Has anyone noticed that Priscilla accompanied JD and Jana on their missionary trip? Josh and Anna called Anna's parents and told them they were expecting BEFORE they told the Duggar family in person. By now it's obvious that I seldom miss watching '19 Kids and Counting.' Even though I disagree with them regarding politics and religion, I enjoy their family and like them all!
