Do you think people realize free dining isn't free?

I actually have to correct my calculations:

I booked the discounted "room only" for $1058 at POP with pref room
Maple leaf 7 day tickets 2A 2C = $980
Total $2038

Magic Your Way with free dining: $2098 standard room

Diff of $60 (plus $118 dif pref vs. stand) means I paid $178 for dining

Not too shabby for 2 A and 2 C for 8 days/7 nights.

I'd consider that free....

In my case, it was free. I had booked our trip back in May - 7 nights, 8 days for two adults and a 5yo at the CR plus airfare for $4900.

When I called last month to find out how much it would cost to add the DDP to our reservation, the first CM told me $700 and some change.

I called back later that day to do it, and the second CM asked me to hold for a few minutes; came back and told me if I'd pay a reservation change charge (I think it was $15?) she'd add the DDP on my reservation and that's all I'd have to pay.

So I'm one of the ones who was probably paying full rack rates, no PINS, no special deals, etc. when I first made (and paid for) our reservations. And from my point of view, it really did save me $700 because that's what I was prepared to add to our total cost.
