Do you think people are jealous?

I find myself wanting to keep our DVC membership a secret from DHs co-workers (these are the families in our social circles). I guess I shouldn't say 'secret' because I wouldn't lie about it of someone asked, but we're just not going around bragging about it.

We're teachers and I haven't worked since my oldest was born (now 6). I know that the other families in our social circles find themselves struggling to be able to afford what they think the need with only one spouse working. We're realatively new to the area we live in (6 years) and none of these families know that prior to moving to where we live now both DH and I worked like fiends, saved every dollar we could, lived well within our means and made some "lucky" investments. I'm sure they would be left very confused (possibly even jealous) by the whole economic aspect of our DVC ownership.

These are the same people (mostly the moms) that have to have higher end everything for their kids...right down to thier socks. Oh well.

We are heading back down this month after a two week stay at Christmas. We have AP & DVC. Every person that we have told we are going back all said "AGAIN". I keep asking why are you jealous? It is at the point we do not even tell people we are going. Anyone else get this when they tell family/friends they are going.:confused3

My father in-law used to say the same thing. Then one day I asked how this was different than him going to his favorite lake to fish every summer. Got him thinking

Boy, seems I get "Again" or some comment about "ears" every dang day at work. Yes some of its jealousy, I'm sure, but most of it is just not understanding. I donot try to explain our Disney trips anymore. HOWEVER, I have had numerous ppl ask me about planning and such whenever they consider going to the World. I actually walked into my Chiropractor's office 2 weeks ago and the darn Secretery started asking me questions? HAVE no idea how she learned I was a Disney fan? But when I went to pay my copay used the Disney Chase card, and its TinkerBell, and then spent the next 20 minutes explaining DVC WDW and Disney Card to her and the Doctor lol.
I kinda felt sorry for her tho she was 1 of those "waiting till kids are older" and "we are saving for a couple years so we can go" A couple years! WOW where do these ppl get the idea it takes 2 or more years of saving to goto Disney World? I know its not cheap but heck there is options to lower or raise your trip price?
