The Hollywood And Dine Restaurant In DCA in the HPB?

Its the big bulding next to the Monsters Inc Ride with No Enterance.

They closed the restuarant about a year after the opening along with Soap Opera Bistro because of DCAs struggaling-ness. The resturant is still there, however, as i read on

http://www.yesterland.com/hollywooddine.html

it is still there but hidden to the public.

Do you think thell reopen it when the refurb is done? I mean, they closed it because of the lack of custemers, but because of the large crowds expected will it come back?

Also does anybody have any information whether it may be turned into a dark ride? I mean, its HUGE, its the same size as the monsters inc building so why arent they using it? If you have heard anything, please tell

I think it's funny because when DCA first opened, it was so restaurant heavy and they took all the restaurants away and now it's lacking restaurants.

With the DCA makeover, I haven't seen any talk of opening new places to eat. Only the beer garden. Especially because a lot of the places they closed (Hollywood & Dine, The Fortune Cookery, Vineyard Room) are all still there.

Looking at H&D on Yesterland, I wish they could open it again! It would be nice to have an Asian type place to eat there... Like sushi! Mmmmmm...

I hear they are going to be putting in a Test Track ride as well as a Sci Fi Dine In type restaurant at DCA. Maybe they'll use the old H&V building for that restaurant and build TT in the old remaining parking lot? Only time will tell.

I also hear that the new TT will have a choice of 2 tracks. :goodvibes

I read that the Test Track type ride will be part of "Cars Land"
"ALL NEW LAND DEVOTED TO CARS
Culminating the major expansion is the entirely new, 12-acre addition: Cars Land, immersing guests into a world inspired by the hit Disney-Pixar film, “Cars.” Radiator Springs Racers, a major “E-ticket” attraction, places guests right in the middle of the amazingly detailed, dimensional Cars world of Mater, Lightening McQueen, Doc and Sally. Guests get a quick race briefing from Doc and Lightening, and suddenly find themselves in the midst of an exciting race around hairpin turns, and steep banks.
Cars Land increases capacity to the park with two additional immersive family rides featuring Luigi and Mater from the film. The Cars Land Drive-In Restaurant offers a unique signature dining experience. Guests dine in automobiles, served by roller-skating wait-staff while enjoying automobile-themed short films during their meal. Cars Land represents an unprecedented
level of collaboration between Pixar Animation Studios and Walt Disney
Imagineering to create this extensive new area. The land will connect Hollywood Pictures Backlot and The Twlight Zone Tower of Terror, through Cars Land, and into Paradise Pier, further integrating the guest experience and substantially extending the total footprint of Disney's California Adventure Park."

I love Test Track and can't wait!!!:woohoo:

I don't think they're going to open it again. Plus, it's hidden in a little nook area in 1 corner of the park. And I'm not sure if I remember this correctly, but I think I remember a private party being held in there once.
Man, before I saw the pics on Yesterland, I almost forgot what it looked like inside. I think I had something from Don the Beachcomber.

Ooooh, I loved Don the Beachcomber when I was a kid! Yummy Polynesian-style buffet! I haven't heard that restaurant mentioned in years!:goodvibes

I enjoy the sci-fi dine in at WDW, hopefully the food here in dca will be better :) I wish they'd reopen that restaurant too!

I guess thats true, its stuck in a dead end part of the park. But, they are opening a link to a bugs land from HPB so maybe when the parks re theme is done it will be re-opened as SOMETHING. They should re-open it, though, the only restaurant in The HPB is Award Weiners, so they should either re-theme it and open it or just open it up as i quite like the theming
:goodvibes

hmm, just fyi, they are opening an Asian cuisine in the old Mexican place in Fisherman's Wharf. They plan to move the Mexican place to the closed down Lucky Fortune because of the popularity of the Mexican place. Sorry, i cant think of that Mexican place's name is called.

thats the newest update on restaurants.
