Do you think my plan will work?

We would like to spend 12 nights at WDW next summer, and I want to book my home resort (BWV) at the 11 month window. However, we don't want to use our points for the weekend nights (2 nights in the middle of our stay), and instead pay cash. Can we reserve the 2 nights on cash at the same time as we book at the 11 month window? We want a 2BR Preferred view, since some would be points and some cash, could we still stay in the same unit the entire stay? (hopefully BW view! )

And, what about at the 7 month window if we decided to switch to a dedicated 2BR villa at BCV or VWL (if available) - would we be able to book it all at the same time AND stay in the same villa?

Make your whole ressie through MS not CRO and you should be fine. They can link the whole thing.

It depends a lot on availability. It is not uncommon for CRO to have no or very few rooms for cash at the 11 month mark. Since BWV is sold out, it is very, very unlikely that MS will have any cash rooms available at the 11 month mark.

If/When you are able to book the weekend nights for cash, you should ask CRO to note the DVC confirmation numbers on the CRO reservation and also add the request to stay in the same room for the entire stay. Then call MS and have them note the CRO confirmation and add the same request. They will have to note the CRO reservation request on both of your BWV reservations (I am assuming there will be two because of the "break" in the middle of your stay). I would also recommend that you fax BWV 3 or 4 days ahead of arrival and repeat the request to stay in the same unit, taking care to list all the confirmation numbers. You will want to mention it again at check-in.

Of course there is no guarantee that you will get a BWV view or that you will be able to stay in the same room all 12 nights given your plan. It is more likely than not that you will have to check out and in again on Friday and Sunday both, even if you can stay in the same room. But even if you do, many have reported that they were allowed to stay in the same room for their entire stay when they combine cash and points stay. I don't know if anyone has done exactly what you propose, however. Good luck!

P.S. Your plan might confuse housekeeping, LOL! You might want to give them a call to confirm arrangments after you get all settled in. Enjoy the trip!

does this mean that o nthe two days you pay cash you will then have complete maid service? then on your before and after ressie, you would have the "mid-week" trash and towel?

If they pay cash through Disney, yes they will get full housekeeping. If it's a Friday-Sunday stay with cash, they will get the full treatment on Saturday. Sunday is check-out day so housekeeping won't be back.

If they pay cash through MS with the DVC discount, it is the same housekeeping schedule as staying on points.

didn't realize that with the discount on paying cash , you also get the discounted maid service..........
