Do you think Mousekeeping would let me borrow their vacuum?

I am seriously considering packing all of our items in Space Bags-packed into suitcases (although with the space bags we'd probably only need 1 suitcase for the 4 of us for clothes). Do you think Mousekeeping would let me borrow a vacuum to shrink them all back up at the end of the trip?

I don't know, but with everything packed so tightly you'd have to be careful not to make your bag too heavy.

We're driving not flying so I'm not worried about weight requirements. Just hoping to fit everything into as few as bags as possible. Santa's bringing presents early and we need to make room in the van to open at my MIL's house.

The upright vacs won't do the job, we tried it.
pack the bags go to a gas station with the big vacs, the Hess station near Boardwalk has them. It may cost a buck or 2 but they work great.

I have used the space bags that are made for luggage. No vacuum needed. Just push the air out and ziploc the bag shut. I also do the same thing with regular ziploc bags.

We just use 1 gallon/2 gallon ziplock bags. Fold everything up, zip up most of the way, push out the air(I sit on my mine), and then zip the rest of the way. The press seals work better than the zippered one for me.

I second the notion of using bags that don't require a vacuum.

The vacuums they use probably don't have a hose attachment so they won't work.

I've only ever seen Oreck machines at hotels and have never seen any hose on them.
