Do you think it is better to pay for transferred points or borrow?

I hate to borrow points because then I feel like I'll be "behind". Does anyone just pay for transferred points for a particular trip so they don't have to borrow from the next year's points? :teeth:

We are always "in the hole" with borrowing points. We've used all our 2006 points and rent when we need more. Why spend the money when you can borrow your points from the next year. You are paying for the maint fees so use them!

My advice is to just borrow what you need. Even if you borrow some points every year, it will probably take several years before you get to the point where you might need to (gasp!) skip a trip. If you ever get to that point, consider renting at that time.

REMEMBER: If it weren't for borrowing, there wouldn't be any banking. Borrowing is NOT bad and you should not feel guilty if you do it. All those savers and bankers out there should be grateful for the borrowers! :teeth:

The only bad thing about borrowing is that it might affect your immune system and make it harder to resist the add on bug. ;) :)

Borrow the points. Even if you borrow every year, the worst case is that in 2042 or 2054 you won't have any points to use. Since it costs nothing to borrow, it really shouldn't be viewed as a negative IMHO.

The points are there to use, just borrow them. You never know when something could come up next year and keep you from taking a trip. Then you would have "saved" your points for nothing. We have been in borrow mode since we joined, but we are still squeezing out trips every year.

My thoughts exactly!

We had to borrow 2006 points when our use year was available IN THE MIDDLE OF OUR VACATION this year! We NEVER use points in our current use year. Always in a borrowing situation, and my thought is this: In 2054 I will be 84 years old. I probably won't care at that time whether I go on a Disney trip or not, so if I stay borrowed out every year until then, no big deal!!!!
