With star wars open with other New attractions being open. Do you think this summer is going to be crazy busy. Or are people going to Waite for the 50 anniversary in 2021 to go.
I think both years are going to be crazy busy.

Tough to know. Haven't the past couple of summers (2018-2019) been less than peak attendance? Was that because people were waiting for the SWGE to be up & running? Does the average guest even know or think about a 50th anniversary and what that might entail?

I guess I'll hedge my bets and agree with you--both will be crazy. And with all the new stuff coming to the parks over the next couple of years, I'll say crazy busy summers for the next few years. :earsboy:

I think June, July, & early August will probably be darn busy both years. Because anyone who finds Summer to be the only good time to travel has been watching the new things opening and anticipating some upcoming ones, and realizing they can experience several of them this summer. And I think that will be a big draw for people.

Hard to tell. Prices are so high now it might not be so busy. Everything has jumped up on prices. We almost changed our minds about going because of prices for the resorts and tickets.

WDW is always a series of "people are waiting for XXX for their trips." It's a never ending cycle.

Waiting for Fantasyland to be done.... waiting for Pandora to open... waiting for TSL to open.... waiting for SWGE to open... waiting for the 50th....waiting for Epcot to be done...

There is always something next month, next season, next year, etc.

The combination of local pass blackouts and the world economy seem to have made the past few summers lower wait times than new kinda peak times like October
(because there so much old info on the Internet saying summer is really really hot and crowded.)

I had this long post thought out with a variety of WDW strategies to even out the crowds and/or wait times for attractions (you know the ones - free dining, reduced ride throughput, expanded party and/or festival dates, etc. etc.) and the inevitable eventuality that summer crowds creep back up or exceed the past after folks get a taste of crowds outside of the summer.

Long story short, I'm thinking "crazy busy" is the new normal for WDW now and for the foreseeable future.

We’ve gone every August for 2 to 3 weeks for the past 10 years. The crowds always seem the same to me, so I figure this summer, it will just be business as usual.

Personally, I think the next few years are going to be peak - with Star Wars open this year and the new Runaway Railroad opening soon it will add some this year ( over last year ) and 2021 with the 50th and Tron totally busy with possible spill over into 2022 if the anniversary party is during that time period as well.

My vote would be yes.
RoTR is open.
MMRR will be open.
Space 220 will be open.
Ratatouille is supposed to open some time this summer.
However, I don't think this summer will be a crazy as 2021.

I don't think so. I think we'll be dealing with coronavirus. I hope I'm wrong.

I don't think so. I think we'll be dealing with coronavirus. I hope I'm wrong.
Last year, there were about 40 million people diagnosed with Influenza A, 647,000 hospitalized and 60 thousand deaths due to influenza A.
Campare to that, currently Coronavirus is miniscule. Now whether what we are seeing with Coronavirus is the tip of the iceburg, is an entirely different question.
