Do You Think I Will Have Time to make Ressies??? Waiting on Contract to Close/...

How are you today?

Anyone with experience on buying a resale...We passed ROFR a couple of weeks ago and our contract is supposed to close on April 3. I am hoping to make a reservation for Thanksgiving before April 20th or so.

Do you think I will make it in Disney's system in time to make a reservation before April 20th?

Any other way around this? Could the seller make a reservation for me?

If you are closing on april 3rd then it is a possiblily for a 2 week time period to get everyting registered with deeds and into DVC's system. goodluck.

Unfortunately no, the seller can not do this for you. Once the points are sold, all reservations are cancelled and the points available (if any) are transferred as well. It may be tough for you to get exactly what you want for Thanksgiving, but keep in mind, you will be inside the 7 month booking window, so all resorts will be open for you to book at. If you get most of your reservation days on your first call, you can always waitlist for the missing days. Although it is possible for DVC to complete the final transfer and get you recorded in 2 weeks, a month may not be out of the question either. Good luck though and I hope it goes fast for you!! This is always the worst part of the resale process (once you get passed the dreaded ROFR of course).

Where do you want to stay? And do you have your heart set on one particular resort for Thanksgiving? Last Thanksgiving we made ressies at OKW at 7 months without any difficulty. I don't know about availability anywhere else since that's where DH wanted to stay.

I would love to make a reservation at BWV for a two bedroom. If we could get in by April 20-21 I would still be in the 11 month window to make a Thanksgiving reservation.

Any BWV owners care to check for me to see if a BWV two bedroom is available for November 22, 23, 24, and 25th?

If not, I won't worry about it. Maybe we'll end up at SSR; and I'll go to the spa all week.

Congratulations on passing ROFR!! You've passed over the biggest hurdle. Stay in close contact with your agent by phone or e-mail to help with these questions. If they suspect a delay, they can jump right on it. That is their job, to walk you through the ENTIRE process.

It was almost exactly 10 business days from the time I closed to the time my points were in the system (which was a day after my name was in the system), and that was just last week.

We were in the system (points & name) 6 business days after closing (Jan '06)....you should make it fine.

Our re-sale contract was given to Disney to enter in the system on March 8 and we are suppose to be in the system so we can start making reservations on March 21.
