Do you think I need Tour Guide Mike?

We are traveling in November. Our days are posted at 4's and 5's on the UG Best Days chart. We will have DS 5 and DS 2 with us. DS 5 is rather timid, so we really won't be spending much time on the "big" rides.

I am still starting to worry though that maybe I need a "professional" touring plan. At first I didn't think I would need one. I was thinking with smaller crowds and with not hitting the big attractions we would be okay. But....with tourism up and the crowd level predictions higher do you think I should spend the extra money and subscribe to Tour Guide Mike?

Much thanks!

mom22,
We have used TGM for our last two trips, and have already signed up again, even though we don't know when our next trip will be. I wholeheartedly recommend using his service. It is a small price to pay when you look at the overall cost of a Disney vacation. 30 minutes into our last vacation I was thankful that I had suscribed because I learned something new, even after 4 previous trips. I believe your experience will be the same.

And remember, for your money you get a lot more than just touring plans. You get all the information that is in a guidebook-resort info; ride descriptions; restaurants descriptions, reviews and menus; hours and calendars; special activity information. The sample tour plans are great and worth the money alone-but there is a lot more there to look at. Another great advantage-The information is updated as Disney changes things. :flower:

He has a money back guarantee so it doesn't hurt to give it a try.

All I can say is...
YES, YES. YES!!! Get TGM!!! He has tons of valuable info that you will be so glad you have....

I've used him for a past trip, and didn't for the last one. I think it's useful to have all the information in a centralized website, but not essential. I enjoyed having it because I like to obsessively research stuff, but I'm not sure you couldn't find all the information somewhere out there on the internet for gratis.

It's also best if you are planning out a strict schedule because then you can make good use of the reservation planner--my last trip I wanted to be flexible to go where I wanted depending on the heat and the crowds, so I ended up making a lot of dining reservations when I got to the parks, or even during the day...

Bottom line, if the money's not an issue, then it's a fun, potentially time-saving tool. Otherwise, you could probably plan your trip fine without it.

We just returned from a trip--it felt like our first since we hadn't been in about 8 or 9 years--and I'm so glad we used Tour Guide Mike. We rode nearly everything without huge lines. This was not the Disney Disaster that my husband had remembered from before--it was quite enjoyable for all of us! My husband is already talking about our next Disney vacation--I never thought I'd hear that come out of his mouth!! :rotfl2:

I am on my third subscription to TGM. I don't feel like I "need" it anymore, having several trips under my belt, but he does give some wonderful information which makes the price worth it for me. Here are the highlights that I particularly enjoy:

1. He not only tells you which parks are best on which days of the week, but why as well. It is the "why" that I find particularly useful in my decision making.

2. He updates his information when things change at the parks. As an example, Extra Magic Hours got switched around for the summer months, so Mike revised his advice.

3. His driving directions from MCO to the various resorts include landmarks, which I found very ressuring when driving a strage car in a strange city.

These are just a few of the reasons why I will continue to update my TGM subscription with every new trip to the World.

Wow! I can't believe it was such a whole hearted "yes!" I am very curious about the TGM website!

Much thanks! ::MinnieMo

Another whole-hearted YES to TGM! We'll never do Disney World without him again.

To those of you who asked, TouGuideMike is a Web site run by a former Disney World VIP tour host (and cast manmber) who now has his own private VIP tour guide service for Disney World.

His Web site gives tons of information on attractions, restaurants, hotels etc, all based on your profile that you enter.

The heart of the Web site is in his touring advice though, which works exceptionallly well. We've used his strategies twice now and never waited more than 10-15 minutes for any attraction, even during the high season. It turned what was a grueling vacation into a relaxing and fun one.

If you want to see what it's like and get a discount, you can take the AVP (automated vacation planner) Preview Tour at http://tourguidemike.com/tour/index.asp, and you can type "HE7KD-8GA" in the Promotional Code section of the purchase page. You'll save $3 off the normal purchase price of $21.95!

Believe me, considering how much vacations cost, this is an absolute bargain.
