This is my question. Does anyone think it would be a problem booking a package for mid Jan '06 in say mid Dec ? My problem is that my DH doesn't believe in c/c & I was seriously considering booking us a package for mid Jan next year but that would mean paying with our debit card & our budget wouldn't allow it :confused3 since now I've read that the packages have to be paid in full 45 days before your arrival date. I get our x-mas bonus from work around the 2nd to 3rd week of Dec. So I was wondering if you guys think I'll have a problem with availability booking with about a month's notice ? We wanted a moderate & preferably FQ but if we had to we would be flexible with the hotel. I was also hoping to add the dining plan & book thru DU so they could handle the reservations for us. But now I'm worried that 30 days will not be enough time & I don't want to postpone our vacation. Any thoughts ??? :wizard:

Really, you only need to be able to swing the initial deposit when you book and then can make full payment at 45 days out. If you can handle that initial deposit, book when you feel comfortable and then don't make another payment until the due date.

Sorry if I misunderstood your question, I wasn't sure if you meant the initial deposit wasn't in your budget or if you were talking about the total cost.

Good luck.

What about booking a room-only reservation which only requires a one-night deposit, and when you're ready to pay for the whole trip, upgrade to a package? That way, you have the room reserved and you can pay for therest of the trip when you add the package.

Will that work? :confused3

That sounds like a good option, hadn't thought of it myself. :rotfl: I could book the hotel I wanted & it'd be nice if I could get a decent rate or code & then later add the package ! Thanks :cheer2:

Only problem is if you book the room on a code or special rate, chances are you will not be able to add the dining package....exception is AAA rates and some FL resident codes.

I think the idea of booking a room only now and adding the package later is a good one.
