Has the Yeti worked for more than an hour or two since they opened EE? ;)

I'm not sure, I do know it worked the last time I road a few years ago. I guess the little things don't seem to matter much to the top brass anymore.:confused3

Not going to read 108 pages to see if it's been mentioned before, but my only problem with Disney in my last several trips is the "standardizing" of merchandise and food. I liked being able to go in to a store at MK, Epcot, DHS, AK, DTD and not have it be 90% the same low-quality plastic. I also enjoyed a bit of variety in my food from CS places.

Oh, I guess I also feel the quality of Disney's films have gone down. All they have is Pixar.. which unfortunately means the parks are being infiltrated with the TV junk (HSM, Handy Manny, etc). No offense to those of you with kids who like those shows. I know they're popular. They just aren't "Disney" like I remember... at least Power Rangers are gone (right?).

Hi Disney Bob!

Now, did the MK stores on Main Street have different merchandise then, say, EPCOT or Hollywood STudios? This is what (I think) people were saying earlier. I just never noticed that .

thanks!

One thing Main Street did have in earlier years was a side street on the left with flower carts, the barber shop and just old time looking facades. They had the penny arcade, magic shop, movie theatre and not as much of the stuff for sale. I actually took a picture of the side street (which at Chistmas was really beautiful) and painted a watercolor and I look at it everyday since it hangs in my living room. I miss that little street!

I haven't read all the comments, but after a trip to Busch Gardens I got a much better appreciation for Disney. Disney isn't perfect but there aren't any others that can come close by comparison.

Yes I remember this too.I liked the penny arcade.I think they have a few of those machines at the train station on mainstreet. The last time I was there I was thinking about it and the movie theater. When they were there it just seemed like more of an old hometown USA feel!

Yes, I know some of the machines are in the train station. And, yes, it did used to feel like an old hometown. Now especially on the left side (walking in) it's one big store! I guess now that's the most important thing-maiking money-but the real feel is lost in all the character/Disney World offerings. The little shops/buildings were more of the hometown feel and I do miss it!

There was a side street on the left (like on the right side) that Disney closed up in 2001 I believe and made it a store. In Dec 2000, the side street was still there. I think when we visited again in the summer of 2001 it was gone!

OP - no, I love it all and try to embrace the changes. I'm too happy there to focus on the negative!;)

Yes, there were 2 - the one on the right side is still there (or was in Feb!) that's where they have the artists drawing. There was a street directly across from the one on the right. Where the one on the left was is now a store(can't recall the name)

I'm not sure which side anymore brunette.I do have a neat picture of my grandma and grandpa taken in the 70's by one of the flower carts. My grandpap died years ago but my grandma remembered where the pic was from the last time I asked about it. I tried to find the spot the last time my wife and I were down there to shoot the same shot with us in it.Needless to say no dice.I wanted to bring it back and show grandma.Oh well!

I really thought the way it was before (mainstreet), disney nailed the allamerican small town feel in a big amusement park.I still have our portrait hanging on the wall that we had made on mainstreet on our honeymoon in 1985.You know the one that a CM cuts out of black paper and put in a black frame. We has it done in one of those small shops on mainstreet. AH yes memories!

The streets are still there or they were for our last trip.
