I was just looking at my Lady & The Tramp avatar and was inspired to ask this!

I love them, makes it seem a bit "special" dining with candles. :)

I do. But we very rarely have a really formal, sit down at the table with the proper settings type dinner. But when we do, we have candles and it's nice.

Yes.

Can't say we do that often at home--my 5 and 3 year old boys would just sing happy birthday and blow them out :)

I do, but not scented candles, as they interfere with the scent of the food. My hubby has an unfortunate tendency to use the Glade 3 in 1 candle when he's trying for ambience...

No, especially if they are the only thing lighting the room. I want to see my food thanks. :teeth:

Absolutely!! And we look so much better by candlelight. Unless it's just the wine. Hmmmm. I'll have to ponder that.

My wife would say no she thinks it is corny same with flowers etc I have tried and she just laughes and asks what I did wrong LOL.

Well, yes. Do we do it often? No. It bugs me when it's too dim though...especially at the restaurant in Mexico at Epcot....ugh. I could hardly read the menu!

My friend that was like my big brother was big on them...he had me and my boyfriend over and would always light candles, which was odd since it was the 3 of us...he's funny like that. I miss him....he moved to FL a couple years ago.

I feel they are extremely romantic. DH and I never have dinner alone anymore, now that we have children, but before we had children candles definily set the mood.;)

Well, I just associate it with a nice, quiet dinner without the kids, so yes, I guess it's romantic.

It's a nice touch, but when we're at a restaurant with small tables it takes up space and it's on fire. That concerns me:firefight

I love candles on the table, whether it's a romantic dinner for just the two of us or a family dinner with everybody for the holidays or a Sunday dinner. Like Chell, I think it's calming. I also think with the right dinner, and the right music and my guy, it is very romantic. And ... I also think thanks to Micca I'll be paranoid in restaurants from now on. :p ;)

I actually hate candlelight, the "flickering" bothers me.....

The last time we had candles, whilst eating at home, was on Christmas Day 2002! I was really thinking when you go out to dinner for those special occasions.
