Do you think a minivan would hold two ECVs?

We will probably need to rent two full size scooters from Apple for our trip in May. My MIL has had both knee replaced and I've recently taken ill (best guess right now is Vasculitis of some kind). Do you think two ECV would fit into our minivan rental? Were staying offsite and my MIL has rented from Apple a few times now. Our room is quite large so the only concern I have is getting them both to the parks. There will be 5 of us, three Adults and two children also in the van. Anyone done this? Thanks. Also, if anyone has any vasculitis advice,
I'd love to hear it.princess:

Not without taking one or both Scooters apart.

A couple of times we have rented a wheelchair accessible mini van to take my MIL places (not at Fisney though). The ones we rented had the driver and passenger seats in the front and the rear bench seat with the middle seat removed. That left enough room to get the wheelchair in from the ramp on the side and had tie down straps for the wheelchair.
The minivan taxis that we have used have a rear ramp for the wheelchair with a bunch seat in front of that.

How small are the kids that are going? If its a comfortable fit you could put the two kids plus the third adult on the very back bench seat (I've sat on the back bench seat with two small/medium teenagers comfortably) and remove the two bucket seats in the middle. The two ECV's would go in the middle and your problem is solved. Just ask the rental agency if they can store them or keep them in an area of your room that is as out of the way as possible. Good luck!

I think it depends on the type of minivan....a lot of the minivans have a well of sorts in the back, where the seats fold down into the floor, it makes the back less roomy. We had an older van that fit my daughter's wheelchair just fine. When we got a newer model van the chair would not fit into the well, it kind of leaned partly in and partly out. What a PITA until we got the van converted. How about a pickup truck rental? I just rented one locally for a trip to the nursery for trees...it was really nice, seats 5 and the back would surely fit 2 scooters. The problem would be the people who need the scooters, would they be mobile enough to climb up into a pickup truck? Sorry if I'm rambling, I'm thinking as I type.

Also since you are transporting them, you do not want the Victory 10 models. Yes they look comfortable, but they don't break down for travel and weigh quite a bit. You need what is called a travel style scooter like the Go-Go Traveler Elite Plus. They break down and are meant for travel in vehicles.

You may need to be a little creative on how to place the scooters, but you should be okay. This could include possible holding of a piece in someone's lap or placing a battery on the floor where the kids are sitting. You may have to stack them where the bases are on top of one another.

It may be easy and none of the above will be necessary.

You may want to play with specs of the mini van and scooters to see how it is logistically.

I agree with renting the small, travel scooter.

I rented two scooters from Apple last fall. I have a prius and I stay in a timeshare off site. They both fit after taking them apart. I do have a back seat that folds down. On the day we were moving to a different condo, I had 2 scooters, 2 big suitcases, numerous bags with food and stuff. Also a couple overnight bags. Wow, didn't think it would all fit but it did. And the scooters are really easy to take apart and put together.

I have stored two scooters after taking them apart in the trunk and back seat of a two door Saturn Ion. I have also stored two scooter without taking them apart in a Ford Expedition with the third row seat folded down (we were four adults so sat two and two).

I think it would depend on the minivan however since I know some do not have a lost of space in the back.

With your group configuration would I would do is put two people in front, two in middle row (I assume not all three can fit in middle row) and one in the third row. I would then fold down half of the third row. You should be able to store one scooter without taking it apart and then store the other one in pieces.

I have a 2013 Dodge Caravan, and a medium size scooter. It takes up the entire third row. On Dodge minivans you fold the seats into the floor. Other minivans you may need to remove the 3rd row seats and stow them in your room. The scooter in the 3rd row can be accessed by the tailgate. Also, a typical minivan configuration is 2 people in the front row, 2 people in the second row, 3 people in the third row. If your third row of seats is gone, the minivan will hold 4 people. And I can't imagine how you would get a 2nd scooter in there. The hardest piece to deal with is the big, bulky seat. Is it possible for some of your group to travel to WDW by a hotel shuttle, in addition to your rental minivan? Or could one of those needing a scooter rent a Disney scooter upon arrival at the parks?
