Do You Still Ride All The Rides

I've always struggled with motion sickness, even when young. So, I've always avoided rides like the teacups. I also have problems with claustrophobia. But I still used to do most of the rides, until I got into my late 60's. Now I just don't want the stress of the intense rides. I also don't care anymore if I ride a ride. I've been to WDW so many times that I don't need to do rides anymore. :)

I started to deal with motion sickness in my 30s from screen based rides. I now avoid some because they just throw me around a bit much.

Due to motion sickness I avoid Flight of Passage and Star Tours.

Due to claustrophobia I avoid Mission Space but I think it would do me in on the motion sickness, as well.

To give my body a break I avoid Space Mountain, Barnstormer, and Dinosaur.
I tried FOP, and other rides and was fine. Me and my guy tried Mission Space, and there’s not a chance I’ll ever ride THAT one again. I had to sincerely concentrate in order to not get sick on a ride for the first time in my life! :( I strongly suggest you never get on that ride

You know, I didn't think about 'mobility/fit' issues. I don't have any problems getting in and out of ride vehicles other than it taking me a few seconds longer to unload because I have to step out rather than hop out. But nDH (non-Disney Husband) has said that BTMRR & SM are 'no go' because his legs are too long. I mean, they've always been too long, but with age he can't squeeze them in as fast/easily and having them bumped around is painful. He can't even fit his legs on Tron, he had to use the 'cart'. I did the cycle. We can't quite figure why he can fit his legs on FoP, but not Tron.

Can anyone explain the exact difference between MS green & orange? I've never tried either. DH did orange in 2015 and it made him nauseous, and he doesn't get motion sickness as a rule. He said 'never again' and I've been too nervous to attempt green, even with the Patch.

Is that the Orange side?

Pretty much still ride everything (except never teacups). Tron was a one and done for me since I have arthritis in my hip, and had trouble getting off. You have to throw your leg over the back of the motorcycle. :(

For the 35 years I was very active in visiting the parks, I rode everything. As I got older or bored with things, I still would occasionally ride the ones that I still enjoyed the most. I still feel that with the exception of Space Mountain, I would still ride any of them and I'm 76 years old. I'm not going to be able to prove that now, because they priced me out both financially and ethically. The greed that they are now establishing has turned me off to the whole thing. In my last visit in 2019, I didn't have a lot of time so I just rode my absolute favorites. I do have back problems but, thrust me, the only one that would negatively affect that is Space Mountain and that was a rough ride 25 years ago. That's when I stopped riding it, plus the older I got the harder it was to get out of the ride vehicles when it was over.

Mission: SPACE has two versions, Green Team - "Less Intense Training" and Orange Team - "More Intense Training." They used to use an identical story, both simulating a mission to Mars, though they changed the Green Team show to be an orbit around earth. The other major difference is that Orange Team will spin to create G-forces, similar to a "Gravitron" ride that you might see at a fair. You are completely enclosed in the capsule, so you can't really feel the spinning, but it will press you into your seat. It is important to note that it does not spin the entire time. It does during takeoff, slingshot, and atmosphering entry - each segment lasting about 20 seconds. The capsule also shakes and kind of swings out so you feel pressed against your harness (to feel more like weightlessness). Green Team also shakes and swings, but does not spin at at all.

If you do ride Orange Team, it is advisable to keep your head facing directly forward. Do not turn your head to the side to look at your crewmates. That will mess with your equilibrium. This ride actually has air-sickness bags under the console, so if you need it, know that it's there. It's really not that bad if you can take the 20 second bursts of high G-forces.

I was surprised how intense Orange was, thinking it would just be like a regular "warning" but it definitely feels like it needs a warning. lol

I have not tamed the Orange beast, and doubt I will after reading this.

No Orange for us! We did Green back to back one trip. First ride was fine; second one left us with an odd feeling.

I ride most everything I always rode. I stopped Space Mountain last year because I think it has gotten much rougher. I stopped Jungle Cruise because I had a really hard time getting off the boat. I may ask about the accessible boat. I never rode Tower of Terror and Teacuos made me sick. That’s about all I’ve quit.

I ride everything. Well except Dinosaur but I would ride that too if it was a better ride. Last year I rode GOTG 3 times. I convinced my wife to go on Forbidden journey once because my brain could not comprehend that it could make anyone motion sick. My bad… The one ride that made me sick was the old dueling dragons. But I would probably do it again if given the chance!
