by sending in money towards your room prior to your trip or buying your passes early or purchasing disney dollars so by the time your trip is here, it is almost or completely paid for?

Most of the time I just put the money towards a vacation in an interest earning account instead of sending it in.

We try to pay as much of our vacation as we can ahead of time. This way it doesn't seem so overwhelming all at once.

DVC pays for the room/cruise
I do visit our Disney store and buy disney dollars. We will each have at least $50 for spending and our $235ish in tips is covered already by disney dollars

...we came back from WDW in Feb. and I'm feeling withdrawal symptoms from reading this site! Now I'm thinking, DD will be 40 in Spring 2006 - am I mad to start thinking about a trip so soon in advance? [US DISers please note - when we're coming from Europe, we need to start saving REALLY early to be able to afford the trip - last visit cost us $10,000!!! ]

No need to spend extra money on a room here, with DVC. We do tend to plan our dates etc, and make our ressies about 11 months out though. We also buy Annual passes, so we only have to buy them everyother year. We save all our change in a big plastic Coke bottle bank. We usually save about $800 a year that way, so it pays for our APs everyother year.

We are DVC members and AP holders so our bags are ALWAYS packed. Really, I have one suitcase full of health and beauty type stuff that is never unpacked. We are always ready!!!!!

I try to have the money for most of it before we leave. we charge everything and then pay it off when the bills come in.
