Do you return grocery carts?

I put my grocery cart away.

My DD works at a grocery store & does carts. I have always parked next to the cart corral when possible because I figured it was one less person that could dent the side of my car. LOL

She told me the worst place to park is next to the cart corral because she said sometimes when they're trying to get the carts out of the corral they have a stray that rolls away or the whole line of them gets out of control & rolls into a car. :scared1:

Needless to say, I don't park there anymore!

I don't park anywhere near those things! People sometimes do a half-butt job of putting those carts in and they will roll away. All kinds of ways. I have seen some people put them in the "area" of the corrals and call it a day. Not good.

If I see a stray cart near my vehicle when I'm parking, I'll take it in with me or put it in a corral.

It depends. I try and park next to one so I can one from the parking lot in, and put it back when I'm done. If it's windy no matter where I park I put it back. Rain or snow, no way.

Better I fix my hair or make that fast phone call BEFORE I start to drive. I mean, unless people would like for me to back out of the spot while talking on the phone.

Oh, one of my biggest pet peeves in the parking lots are VULTURES. You know, those people who follow you as you walk down the aisle instead of moving on. I usually make sure to take the looooooong way, make sure everything is nicely packed in the trunk, check my voicemail, change the CD, and anything else that I just need to do before I leave...
My DH goes between being a vulture and parking 10,000 miles away from the entrance! Drives me crazy either way!

I always try to park near the correl so im close enough to return the cart without any hassle.

Me too! When my kids where little we lived in Washington where it rains ALOT. I got in the habit of parking next to the cart return. 17 years later I am still parking near the cart return. ;)It just makes it easier.

Used to live in Chicago. Gotta take it home. Need something to put into the shovelled out parking spot in the winter. Tried a couch but someone took that.

You mean you don't suddenly remember that you "forgot" something at the store and start to walk back in? That REALLY twists the vultures' panties.

:lmao:

If somebody is waiting for my spot while I check my texts and make my calls before I drive, and starts getting antsy, ie: throwing their hands up in their car, or even worse, honking, I will absolutely, definitely have forgotten something in the store.

Actually, I often bring my stuff out from Costco, catch up on some phone calls and then get out and walk over to Michaels and Target, also both in the same shopping center. That is, if I don't have any frozen stuff.

I don't mind people waiting for my spot, particularly if it is pouring outside (as it often is here) or the parking lot is really crowded. But like you, if they decide to get rude about it and try to rush me, I take my sweet time. :rolleyes1

I don't ~ I have my 14 yr old son do it for me. :)

Interesting thing happened a few months ago though.....DH and I were picking up a balloon order on a rather windy day. We were parked across the row and sort of caddy corner from a cart corral. It was so windy that one of the carts escaped, rolled across the row and smack into the front of my car. For some reason, there was no metal strip to keep the carts in place.
