Do you remember this from your childhood?

We never got Chez Helene out west.

Sure we did! I watched it all the time in Edmonton. Friendly Giant for 15 mins then Chez Helene for the second 15 mins. Mr. Dressup was the big time show for all of 30 mins! Maybe I'm older than you are!:happytv:

FRIGHTENSTEIN OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH for years I have been trying to remember this show. the closing credits always scared me.

now...I also have been trying to remember if this show was the one where the shoes would come on for a skit...talking shoes. anyone recall? anyone? i was convinced that the show was one and the same (on the Frightenstein show) but not sure....

Friendly Giant!!! Oh, thanks for the memory.
I was also a Mr Dressup fan. But, my biggest memory was when I went to see him live --That did it for me. One of the biggest disappointments for a young child-- first Casey and Finnegan were "sick" and not there Then, I saw him smoking!!!!! I was crushed. The curtain had opened a bit and you could see this . I never ever forgot. Funny what kids remember:confused3:lmao

I love looking up all the old shows, especially the ones posted above on Youtube, as well as seeing the good old commercials from back in the 80's.

Does anyone remember a show that had a character that was a boot? There was also a girl shoe...with lipstick on. I think there was also a man with a very heavy french accent that was dressed in very tattered clothing. What the heck was that? LOL! That is the only recollection I have but I can't figure what the show was! I also vaguely remember a show with Harriet Hippo I think it was. What was that one?

Look up....I asked about the very same thing. LOL

anyone know yet about the show with i think it was Jeremy the bear? it was done in a stop motion style....

The Friendly Giant - LOVED that show, so much that during my final ARCT exam at the Conservatory way back when, I managed to fit in a performance of "Early One Morning". The music and show were wonderful :worship:

I used to also love Green Forest, and the little shorts about brushing your teeth "round and round".

Memories... :thumbsup2

Green Forest? That rings a bell. All of a sudden I am singing "the green forest, the GREEN forest..." Hmmm, what is that? Oh, and "brush your teeth, round and round. Circle small, gums and all....something something something..will keep your teeth healthy and stop tooth decay. So clean very carefully, at least twice a day, so brush your teeth." Wow.

Anyone remember the singing hunk of cheese guy with the cowboy boots? "I hanker for a hunk of cheese!" What show was that on?
Oh,and the Polka Dot Door. sigh. I love Youtube! It's great to look back at the good old days! I forgot all about Jeremy! Don't forget Barbapapa!

ARGH - now I can't get "The Toothbrush Family" song out of my head. Should NEVER had mentioned it!!

Brush your teeth
Round and round
Circles small
Gums and all
A small soft toothbrush the round and round way
Will keep your gums healthy and stop tooth decay
So clean very carefully three times a day
Go round and round
Yeah [from Hot Rod Harry]
Round and round

Here's more torture at about 3:01 into this short: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_cnF3zydWOI

Here is one I hope someone knows. It was a show that aired on CHCH in the early to mid 80's. It had a magician with a maroon suit and they played cartoons as well. Ring any bells?

This was my routine too - only in Weyburn, Saskatchewan! Ah the memories. My favorite part of the Friendly Giant was when the cow jumped over the moon at the end.

I loved the Friendly Giant and Chez Helene, and I remember them both being 15 minutes long as someone previously stated. Mr. Dressup was the star though! I can barely remember when it was called Butternut Square, or something like that. ;) It had the same characters but it was before Mr. Dressup was the name of the show. Wow...my birthday is next week and I am feeling a bit old...:rotfl:
