Just a little interesting trivia

I have a receipt from June of 2000 for a 1 bedroom at the Boardwalk Villas. It shows $438.45 per night - that included the tax. I'm sure it was full rack rate - I didn't know about discounts, and it was a splurge trip we had saved up for.

Somebody out there is probably asking "does this woman ever throw anything away?". I saved the receipt because that was the trip where we decided to buy into DVC.

In July of 2001 we paid $179 per night for the Poly & $199 for the GF. Ah, remember the days.

In Nov of 2001 we paid $139 for Garden view at Poly. We had this price booked before 9/11. Allstars 49, POFQ 69 or 79 this were trips before 9/11.

In 1993 we paid $185.00 per night for a standard view room at the Disney Inn(totally not worth it!).
In 1995 we paid $149.00 per night for a standard room at Wilderness Lodge.
In 1997 there was a special going on for the Contemporary. We got a garden wing room for $139/night. THAT was a GREAT deal!

I have a receipt from the summer of 1991, from the Beach Club, where I paid $250 plus tax for a waterview room. No discounts.

Edited to add: Plus the letter which accompanied the receipt of deposit, which stated that Stormalong Bay would not have fish in it as originally advertised, and that section of the pool would be unavailable.

We were at AKL from 9/8/01 to 9/13/01, so over 9/11. I think it was around 240 for savannach room view with FL resident disc

In Nov 2001 (booked pre 9/11) we paid $99 a night with a room only code at POR.

We had GF in July '99 with a convention rate of $205 a night garden view, then upgraded on arrival to lagoon view of Poly. I can't remember other pre 9/11 rates but I do recall post 9/11 having a GA resident rate at CR in June of $149, could have had WL for $129. Those were the days! We also had POFQ in July '05 with an AP rate of $99 a night.

I don't remember those rates specifically. I do remember DH and I using the Magic Kingdom Club card in 1997 and staying in the Nantucket Suite in Beach Club for $189.00 per night!

DH was whining about how much we were paying (he was accustomed to Dixie Landings at $69.00) until the bellman showed us around the suite. That was one of my favorite Disney stays ever!

July of '01 we stayed at ASMU for $55 a night and CR N Wing room for $134 a night...I remember using a code from Mary's site, and now those "types" of codes and the NWing are gone!:sad2:
That was also our first "onsite only" stay..8 total nights, it was great. Our other trips had been a mixed bag of off site, one day on the way to see family type of visits.

We have never stayed off site again. :goodvibes

You better hurry up and join DVC before the sticker shock and inflation eats you alive.....:scared1:

I had a postcard rate at the Beach Club for $167 in June 2001. This was our first deluxe stay (for my 50th birthday) and I've been hooked on deluxe ever since. We were upgraded to Concierge on that trip and it was fantastic.
