Chef Mickey's?

We arrive on Nov. 26 in the late afternoon. We will want to make a stop at a Wal-Mart or Target or something for some shopping and then were thinking of Chef Mickey's for dinner.

What do you think? Do you suggest a different plan? Should we do shopping and then dinner or dinner and then shopping?

My dd's are 7 and will be almost 2.

Your kids are about the same ages as mine. We love Chef Mickeys for dinner. Though we are really not breakfast people. But the Prime Rib, peel and eat shrimp and oh those parmesian mashed potatoes. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. We always do Chef Mickeys our 1st night there. Its a tradition, gets us in the disney mood. We like early AR's . Only because CM's can get backed up, even with AR's. Last January, we waited almost 45 minutes for a 6:30pm AR. We are eating at CM's twice this trip. I made both AR's for 5pm, the first one for dinner.

I'm doing Chef Mickey's my first night there too. I won't have enough time or energy to do a park after travelling so I thought Chef Mickeys would be a good first night activity. I can't think of a better activity for a 7 year old who's been traveling than Dinner with Disney's lead characters.

Personally, I think the food was not as good at dinner as it is at breakfast. It just seemed average. We much prefer breakfast. Either way, a fun time will be had by all.

We usually eat at CM for dinner our first night also--however, not this time because DS wants to eat there on is b'day. We also always go with an earlier AR so there is not backup problem. I think it is a great way to start a vacation.

I agree! Better yet, I can't think of a better activity for a 40-year-old who's been traveling!! ::yes::

We've done both breakfast and dinner at CM and I prefer dinner. I find it more relaxing than breakfast. It seems I feel rushed at breakfast (not by the CMs), trying to hurry up and eat so we can begin our day of touring. At dinner, the day is done and we can relax and talk about the fun we've had! We have made this a tradition for our first night in Disney as well. Check in - swim - Chef Mickey's!! :flower:

You'll enjoy CM no matter which you choose!

Having to rush to get to the parks is no fun when you have a character b-fast scheduled. That is why most of my meals were planned around dinner. Although breakfast is always delicious, I always find myself checking my watch.....

Go for dinner....we'll see you there! Thats the day we arrive as well....planning on Chef Mickey's then a monorail ride, and depending how tired DDs are (age 4 and 1.5), and depending how crowded MK is, may stay to see Spectro.

Since my DD is up so early we usually do breakfast as the family are huge fans of breakfast buffets. I've never been for dinner so I can't help there.

We always have breakfast there once every trip. We had dinner there once and didn't really enjoy the food that much. I'd suggest maybe trying Ohana's your first night and save CM for breakfast. Just MY opinion. :flower:

character breakfasts. We do CM dinner at least once per trip, but usually towards the end of the trip. I prefer dinner because I am not a big breakfast eater, and I hate that uncomfortable full belly feeling in the AM (although I don't mind it so much at dinner...hmmmmm). Also, I really enjoy the dinner choices much more than the same eggs, bacon, sausage, etc that I can order in the food court. I love having the whole day to look forward to the meal, and the time to sit and relax after a day of running in the parks. We usually go back to MK after dinner to see Spectro (if its a Spectro day) and Wishes. All we have to do is get back and find a spot, and let the food digest.

Breakfast without a doubt. It is superb and has far more selection then dinner. You rarely hear a bad thing about breakfast but you do hear bad things about dinner. Think about it! :flower1:
