Do You React to Food Additives Like MSG, Etc?

I think I've noticed a reaction to MSG. It seems to cause a headache, muscle aches, and extreme lethargy, similar to cold or flu symptoms without fever. I do my best to avoid it now. I haven't been officially diagnosed with an allergy to it, but my nutritionist has labeled me a "sensitive" person who experiences a lot of side effects from foods and products that I consume in day to day life. No MSG or nitrates means no Chinese food, no Doritos, no lunch meat, no bacon and it royally stinks because those are all yummy things.

Welcome to the DIS! But how did you manage to resurrect a 12 year old post as your first post? Around here we call these Zombie posts!

My food allergies: MSG, barley, corn and soy.
Reactions: If I have beer or anything made w/ beer, I get an immediate raging headache. Anything w/ MSG gives me a raging headache also. Soy, corn and corn byproducts give me a slight headache sometimes.

:lmao: I should have clarified. I didn't eat the whole thing. My friend and I split the burrito, so I only ate half. He was fine. But this is a person who eats leftovers that are sometimes 3 weeks old.;) He did note that the pork was extremely salty and it was unusual for Chipotle to be "off" in their seasonings.
It doesn't matter if you did. The pp's comment was not needed.

OOOOO A zombie thread.
3 out of 10 zombies pointed out Chinese restaurant syndrome is as fake science as vaccines causing autism.
6 other zombies chimed in and disagreed saying that they will remove headaches the zombie way free of charge. Those of us conducting the study agreed that we would not suggest that option.
1 zombie said he doesn't like MSG and when he asked us if we consumed a lot of it I yelled YES, WE'RE TOTALLY FULL OF IT. YOU WOULDN'T LIKE US. as we quickly ended the survey and ran back to the car.
