So with the Memory Maker being part of some of the new AP's, I was wondering if this option is commonly used by DVC members.

So it's pretty straightforward...do you use this service or not?

We've bought every version of it since they introduced it but we only go roughly every other year and tend to go with at least 8 people so it's been great to get one memory maker and share all the pictures. I'm also a scrapbooker so that helps.LOL

Every trip which means 3 times per year. DS is two. There have been times I said we would skip it and just buy one nice photo and use our camera for the rest. Then he manages to ham it up while waiting for a character to come out like Jake this past May and the pp photographer snaps away capturing the whole thing before I could.

never have before and probably won't in the future, but for this upcoming trip...DD's first...with 5 grandparents and 2 aunts in attendance...yeah, we'll do it this time.

Most DVC members are making multiple trips to WDW, and if they're like us, they already have LOTS of pictures. When the kids were young, we took lots of pictures, but I can't see including Photopass Memory Maker for the DVC AP. We never even stop at the Photopass people and for years we didn't even know what they were! We're just used to taking our own photos-usually of odd things, like the food we're eating, or the size of the refrigerator in our room. Do Photopass photographers do that?

We've bought it twice, both times for "special" family trips when we knew we'd want all of the ride photos, and would not plan to buy it for "regular" trips (just DH and me). However, when we did have it we used it a lot and got some really good photos of "just DH and me" so I'm looking forward to having it included.

We've done it ONCE -- on a special, family gathering, trip. I can't see using it, needing it or wanting it for our typical "strictly casual" type of visit.

We have bought it every trip. Normally we go as a large family group but our last trip was just 2 adults and we still got it enjoyed it as it was cheaper then a new camera and when there wasn't a photopass photography near by our cellphone did the job. We took over 500 pics plus the bonus pics that were put on of the topiary and stuff from flower and garden and the generic park shots were great

We used the PhotoPass back when DD was 5 and we were on our first trip. Since then, my husband shoots photos (not quite DisBob level but good for us). Occasionally we do a character photo but not often. So after 10 years and lots of trips, it is not a value to us.

The one time we didn't purchase it, our pics look like my husband had a great time drinking his way thru Food and Wine...by himself. Now that we have kids, I see us using it even more and am glad it will be included in the APs.

I voted that we never have bought it (and we haven't) but I was thinking about getting it for our trip in June where we will have our daughters with us for the first time.

Never have, never will.
We have our own camera to take the pictures we want, which we have found to be not where the photogs are located.

We purchase it most of the time for the following two reasons:
1) I want to lug around as little as possible while I'm at the parks and with two children under the age of 5 it is a massive pain to carry around a big DSLR camera along with a diaper bag, change of clothes, snacks, etc, etc. I refuse to risk taking pictures with our phones as the lenses simply aren't fast enough to avoid motion blur.
2) I'm always the one taking the pictures so I'd rarely be in our family pictures. One day when I'm gone, I'm guessing that the kids/grandkids will like seeing pictures of their dad/grandpa hamming it up with them at Disney.

We'll take candids with a little point and shoot and use the Disney photographers for the touristy shots. Also, the ride photos are always fun!

We did once and it was OK. However, those Photopass photographers are not going to get your kids photo as they watch Wishes, or when they are eating their first Dole Whip.
I can only imagine how busy the PP photogs will be going forward. You'll have to schedule a FP+ just to get near one.

That thought crossed my mind too...how long will the lines be on Main Street at MK now with the castle background pictures? We would never pay for Photo Pass but if it's included in the AP now, hey why not use it? It will be interesting to see that in-park impact of so many more people having this.

Used it once but we got it for free. We have a thousand pictures of WDW/Disney so we don't really need more.

I see the included Disney Photopass Memory Maker as the same move as including rapid fill with the DDP. Doesn't matter if you want it of not, you got it and it feels like Disney gave you a perk when they really just increased the price. Many will not use photo pass just like many don't leave their room and take a long walk for a small soft drink.

I have bought it twice for birthday trips with BFF and then we copy and both get all the pictures.
I also bought for a family trip last Dec. when there were 7 of us including DGD.
Never when it is just DH and myself.

I would like to SS this. I have never paid for it before, but now that I have a child we were going to start to get it more often. Maybe not every trip, but more often then never.

I usually find a way to share it with a friend to help reduce the cost. We go 2-3 times a year so buying a full MM for each trip is costly. My kiddos are still under 10 so it's worth it.

As for the new AP, I like that I could use it for every trip and not have to share. Sorting though everyone's pictures get cumbersome. I may buy one AP with the photopass, I don't see the point in overpay for all four family members. But I'm still on the fence about buying APs at all this year. We have military ticket options.
