Do you purchase any "just in case" gifts?

I have a bin of stuff in the garage that I have collected over the years just for this reason :) I love finding the "pack of four gifts" things and after Christmas sales!

Are you kidding? I have 3 kids! I currently have 2 armoires and 1 closet full of bargain gifts. I hit BBW one year at the right time and had enough to open my own store. I also love Target 90%off clearance. . .a case of .39 barbies, 4 battery chargers, oodles of Lip Smackers, and flannel sheet sets from last years line that were $1.99. There are some TRU bargains in there too. . .$2.99 Sorry Birthday editions and various Scene It's. :thumbsup2 A few years ago Walgreens had some Starbucks truffles that were free with coupon and a good RR deal on Planter's nuts. . .those were great for the mailman, newspaper guy, etc.

With all the birthday parties my kids go to in a year, I have to. It's soooo much easier for them to just pick something out of the closet than to have to run out and buy something each time. I also keep it stocked with Target clearance Christmas bags and tissue paper. I LOVE it when they aren't Christmas-y!

Learned that at age 14 when all the other cheeleaders came by with a present. What ever you do - do not pass on a 10 year old box of Christmas cookies that ar rancid.

I would kill for those - LOL.. Great for the backing on the quilts I make!! :thumbsup2

PM me your address. . .maybe we can make a deal. They are king size and I don't plan on keeping my king size bed. . who knows how long I will keep them before I find somebody to gift them to. They're really cute too. . .think Swedish design in red and black.

I never thought about having a few gifts for surprise guests because we really don't get anyone surprising us. But it's a good idea just in case. Now birthday party gifts I usually have a stash of some things nice that went on clearance and even that stash is empty so thanks for the reminder.

C. Ann, your mom wasn't the only one.:) My mom's always buying little gifts during the year in case she suddenly needs something. Silky scarves, manicure sets, money clips, holiday costume jewelry, boxed handkerchiefs, teddy bears and children's playing cards (Go Fish etc) are some of the things I remember. She never specifically taught me to do this, but now that I'm married with my own home I can see the wisdom in it. She never spent a lot of money, always sale bargains, but they always seemed to come in handy.

For Christmas, I was thinking of baking a really large batch of cookies and storing them in sealed bakery gift bags just in case I need a holiday gift for someone.

Yes, I have a gift closet stocked with great gifts that i have picked up at 75% - 90% off throughout the year. I have two gift bags with Christmas gifts under my tree, ready to go in case someone drops in unexpected, and someone does every Christmas. I like to be prepared. :)

Arminnie,
I know this is completely off topic...but I couldn't help but notice the picture of your fur baby. He or she is absolutely adorable!!! May I ask what kind of dog it is? I am thinking a cocker, but am not quite sure. I could just eat that puppy up!!
