Do you procrasinate when buying gifts?

When it comes to buying gifts...

  • I procrastinate and wait till the very last minute

  • I am well prepared with my gift and card a couple months or weeks ahead

  • I leave the gift shopping to my SO or parent

  • I don't buy gifts for anyone

After reading Blueberry's Happy Christmas in July post, I was wondering how many people actually buy gifts and cards before the actual event to prepare for it, or wait till the very last minute.
What sort of gifts do you usually buy?

I really try to have my gifts/cards ready WELL in advance. But sometimes I forget and end up scrambling around at the last minute! ...which I hate!!

I always have good intentions of buying gifts well in advance, but that never seems to happen. Christmas gifts, I try to start in October or so..... but I have to be in the store(s) on Christmas Eve Day or "it's just not Christmas!!"

Yeah, I'm definitely a wait-until-the-night-before kind of gift shopper, although, I do THINK about the gift for a long time in advance so I usually have a good idea what I want to buy!

I'm a bargain shopper, and I'm always looking for opportunities to buy gifts on sale. I'll do some christmas shopping after christmas for the NEXT christmas (yes, almost a year in advance). I'll keep an eye out for sale racks in stores and look over them to see if there's anything that would be perfect for <whoever> as a gift. Okay so their birthday or christmas might not be for 3 or 4 or 6 months, so what. I'll have found the perfect thing, and saved some money at the same time.

Father's Day and Mother's Day sales are good times to buy birthday gifts.

And because I shop this way, I can take the money that I would ordinarily spend on one 1 gift at full price and end up getting the person several gifts that I know they'd like.

Uh, my cousin's wedding was three weeks ago... Still haven't ordered a gift. :o I swear I'll do it tomorrow!

Okay, people like you make me puke. Just kidding. Sort of. But it's just jealousy, LOL.

That's okay, I'm used to it! I hear it all the time from friends who procrastinate. I have one friend who swears I'm "not human" :)

I will admit, I'm a bit extreme. OTOH I'm perfectly normal for my family, most of whom are the same way.

I am usually prepared ahead of time. I have a bunch of greeting cards ready for those different occassions, and look at my calender to see what event is coming up within the next couple of months and plan ahead.
