which of them 2 waterparks do you prefer, TL oder BB ? and why ? How much time do you spend on them ?

will be glad to hear your reports pirate:

I like TL better. More relaxed BB seems to be more thrill rides.

okay, thank you. but what are the differences between the rides @ Bb and TL ? are there any typical rides for BB and TL ? how much time do you spend on each of them ?

I also prefer TL. I live in Wisconsin so the thought of being surrounded "a blizzard" does not appeal to me, I get enough of that through the year! The rides at TL are tamer than the ones at BB. Things exclusive to TL would be the new water coaster, swimming with sharks, and surf lessons.

I prefer TL for the relaxed tropical setting because I am not "a rider" of the rides. TL also has the swim with the shark thingy and it's a fun/neat experience! I like the shark encounter (snorkel gear provided) and the raft ride that calmy floats along. :teeth: BB has one too. So my preference is based on the "setting" not the rides so much. My hubby also loves the BIG WAVES at TL wave pool!

That being said, my 9yr old son prefers BB for the rides. :confused3 They also have a rather large area set up for the smaller ages to enjoy with things like walking across "plastic" ;) blocks of ice etc. My hubby does all the rides and doesn't really care but he would choose TL for the wave pool!

I think BB has the family raft ride too??? Not sure, sorry. Read info on the rides for both parks and see which one appeals more to you and or your family and if that doesn't matter than pick one for theme-ing. Hence my choice for TL. :flower:

We have annual passes so we go to both but when it's Mom's vote...off to TL! If you only have one chance to hit a water park, then imho, go for TL!!!

Happy planning! :wizard:

Oh yea...time spent...go early, early, early! You have to find your "spot" first with towels etc! The primo shade spots go fast! Yea, we have had luck when we arrived later in the day but it can be a pain. We like to arrive a bit before the park opens, set up our spot, and stay at least until after we have lunch, relax, hit one more ride and then we leave. My son could stay until it closes but too much sun for us fair people even with shade and plenty of sunscreen is potentially dangerous. ;) Also, when busy the parks can reach capacity as early as 11:00 not letting anyone else in!!

wow thanks alot, that was a great advice !! well according to the rides, blizzard beach sounds very interesting on me ;) but do you think it will be a stressy day, doing first TL and then BB or should i rather go TL in the morning, then at around lunchtime (2-ish) to like MK and then on the next day, do BB and then the rest of MK? so split the waterparks into different days or rather do them on one day ?

aaaahhhh i cant wait...4 more months !

Isn't the planning fun!

We've done BB and TL in one day...once during a trip! Everyone is different but we are tired after we put in a full day at a water park. Well, the 9yr old is fine but his old parents are not. Actually, he falls asleep no problem on water park days! ;)

Hmmm...try and do both TL & BB in one day and mark it off your list!

I think doing a water park in the AM and say MK in the afternoon is a fine plan too!

My biggest concern is if TL/BB hits it's maximum occupancy and then your outta luck. The other consideration is just like the regular parks the lines get l-o-n-g. So, arriving early has it's perks anyway you look at it!

After writing this and thinking about it some more, doing TL/BB in the AM and heading to MK after may be your best bet! Splitting the water parks makes sense! Make sure you head straight for the "big" rides right away!

Your gonna have a blast!!!

@rmontgo892 : your absolutely right, planning rocks ! :smooth:

yea i think too that its a good idea cuz the water parks are a good chance to cool down so i think its better so split them. especially on a day when MK or MGM has EMH, head on to them then ! but an afternoon + evening won't be enough for neither of them two MK and MGM, right ?

omg, i can hardly remember anything from my last trip to WDW (i think i was 11 so ~ 7 years in the past) , the only thing i remember is that i loved MGM, very much liked AK, didnt like Epcot sooo much, LOVED the waterparks and didnt to AK at all ( we thought it wouldn't be necessary because it was new and costed extra and we did a 2 week safari in afrika the previous year )
glad my parents like to go far away in holidays...allthough they go to USA this year only because im turning 18 and there is nothing i'd like to do more so they do me the favour..and my girlfriend follows !! :cool1:

august come !!!!

edit: question: which time zone is this board directed to ? i mean, where in america ? cuz i thought we (germany) were 6 hours ahead to you but as i just saw its now 12:20 am so its 7 hours ?

The continental USA (not including Alaska and Hawaii) has four time zones: Pacific Time, Mountain Time, Central Time and Eastern Time. Disney World is in Eastern Time.

DS13 & I are planning on Typhoon Lagoon one day this August

Do you think TL will be busy this Sunday 4/24? I know that the UG has the parks crazy busy for this time of year plus the locals. We've nerver been and Have one day to choose a park and fly out that night.

last trip, we did bb... this trip we are doing both!
Each on a different day, and that is all we have planned for both of those days.... they are more of a relaxed day for us...

I have never been to TL yet, but I can tell you that BB is a blast!
While my hubby and oldest son go do the big thrilling slides, me and the two little ones head to the kiddie area where they have sooo much fun!

But our favorite memories has to be the family raft ride where all 5 of us get into one big raft and down we go! The kids (and us parents too) loved the lazy river... there is a lr at both tl, and bb...

bb also has a wave pool, i thought it was really rough... grew up at wild waves and the wave pool there had big gentle waves, not sure about the one at tl, will find out soon!

Either way you go, my suggestion is to go early so you can get a good spot picked out and park your stuff!
Then have fun!

I would have to say this board is Eastern Standard Time. Right now it is 3:02 PM(EST) and Berlin is 9:02 PM according to my world clock on my cell phone. So six hours ahead is right???

I think a Safari in Africa sounds fabulous(my family talked me outta going  )! I am gonna got out on a limb here but I think actually seeing Africa gives you the idea of AK! :teeth: What wonderful parents you have! I am glad you want to come (again) to the USA and WDW for your 18th Birthday! How nice your girlfriend gets to share it with you!

We live on the east coast and are only a 2 hr 20 minute plane ride away from WDW so we like to go often. My 9 yr old has only seen the USA so far but we will travel soon to Europe. My parents sent me with my French Class to France, Switzerland, and Italy when I was 16 and I had a blast!!!

I think arriving early on water park days and splitting them will allow you to "see" and "do" just about everything there! The MK will be more crowded when you arrive later but using the EMH at night may help. In between Fast Pass Times maybe you can "see" the rest of the park at least.

I hope the time change will work to your advantage. I am always complaining about the time change when I visit my brother in California. Some don't believe in it or claim it doesn't bother them...it bothers me! :teeth:

By the way! Your "English" is fantastic and using these boards is a wonderful way to "practice!" American "phrases" can be difficult to "get." :teeth: My relatives from Poland say English is difficult! ;) The younger ones get it much quicker than the older ones.

Happy Planning!

fun reading your nice post , i enjoyed it :-)

yep i also like the idea of doing the water parks in the AM and Mk on 2 split afternoons (+emh?) more and more. sounds like manifoldness :-)

africa giving an idea of MK ? hm, i'm not sure about that since i saw lions hunting gnus, leopards and vultures eating some dead 4-footer...not to mention the crocodiles etc..i think AK rather gives a vague idea of africa ;)
you can't beat real nature !

i'm also sooo happy that my girlfriend can spend my 18th with me, funny thing is that my dad turns 61 on the same day *hehe*

well my english is improving again since i have english as main subject as school and i got educated bilingual (my mum studied in the UK)

i dunno what is more fun....writing my impressions and my memories of my last trip to WDW or reading all the enthusiastic reports of you lot :-)

have a nice day, i'm going to sleep now (it's 9:45 pm right now) good night! :)

I'm definitely a TL gal! We're planning on going back there during our August trip. I'm originally from Chicago, so I've dealt with cold and snow my entire life so BB has never appealed to me (so I understand where the Wisconsin poster is coming from). Plus it just doesn't seem to give off that same type of laid back atmosphere that I really enjoy about TL.
