We've always followed a CS for lunch and a TS for dinner format during our trips. We're traveling with friends on an upcoming trip and they always do the exact opposite and have a TS for lunch and a CS for dinner.

I'm not sure which is the most efficient and effective assuming that you do one of each every day.

Which is better???

We usually have TS for lunch and CS for dinner. Lunch is by far cheaper, especially at the restaurants in Epcot's WS. Also, it is nice to sit down and take a break mid-day. Especially in the warmer months in Florida. It is nice to get into the A/C for an hour and re-energize. On occasion, DH and I will have nice childless dinner at WDW (Thanks to Kid's Nite Out.) But, we don't work it into a touring plan for a park. We go and relax and enjoy the meal.

On my last trip in 2005 we did CS at lunch and TS at dinner (mostly to maximize the DDP) and toward the end of the trip we were worn out and sometimes didn't want to go back out just for dinner. For my trip this year in June/July I purchased the DDP more for convenience; I plan to do TS for most lunches and CS at dinner, with the exception of WPC and La Nouba one night and Mama Melrose F! package another. I hope we stay refreshed!

TS for lunch for sure!! Much more relaxing, less structured. If your tired, the night before, you can sleep in and don't have to be in the park till your ADR time. OR you can get to the park at rope drop, stay till lunch, then go back to your room if your tired. We found if we needed a break in the afternoon, it was a hassle with the kids to be back at a certain park at a certain time for an ADR., IMO of course!!:goodvibes

We always do TS for dinner. CS for Lunch. I think its really nice to go back to the room, after parks/pool....shower and go out for a nice dinner. Dinner is relaxing because you aren't trying to figure out what else you are going to do that day..We walk around for a bit after dinner..then catch fireworks.

I think a lot of it depends on where you are staying. Staying in the Epcot resort area is very convenient for TS dinners. :thumbsup2

I didn't vote because :
If on the DDP, especially if it is FREE, we use the TS at dinner.
If paying out of pocket, we are more apt to eat TS at lunch.
In both cases we usually eat CS at breakfast.

We do the dining plan so we prefer TS dinners because that is where the best savings is

:goodvibesI want to vote TS for early lunch and early dinner.

when I go with DH it's TS for lunch and dinner, b'fast in the villa/FC depending on where we are staying. When I go with my friend, it's mostly CS for all meals, with 1 or 2 TS thrown in. When I go with my sister, it's all TS all the time (except sometimes for b'fast - but that b'fast better be close and quick, she is a BEAR in the morning before she eats!)

we usually do TS for lunch to take a break from the parks and heat, then swim, then a CS for dinner if we go back to the parks or continue hanging at the pool.

Usually we like a table service lunch or late breakfast. We still have younger kids so this way we could head back to the resort whenever we want and not worry about ADR's. On the occasion we do TS for dinner then we do counter service breakfast so I could not vote.

We don't use the DDP, but if we have a TS meal, it's usually lunch, either very early (11:30am) or very late (2:30-3pm).

w/DDP: Dinner TS, Lunch CS
w/o DDP: Only breakfast TS meals the rest CS unless want to do one special meal would probably still do dinner.

I wouldn't want a lunch TS meal only because I want to have more time in the parks playing and shopping and less time sitting down at a meal that could take an hour or more.

I didn't vote for either because we mix it up between all three meals--breakfast, lunch and dinner. With lunch and dinner, it really depends on what is on the menu of where we want to go and if it is offered for both meals, we usually will do dinner.

When you travel with friends, you should probably follow the advice of those friends all the time. Because they are probably way smarter than you. I don't mean this in general, but I think its true in your specific case. At least thats what I gather from you being a totally anonymous person on the internet that I've never met. I can just tell from your post.

But really on the DDP its a better value to have TS for dinner in general. But really the schedule of activities should come before trying to save every last dollar you can I think. So some days may be more convenient to have TS for lunch and CS for dinner.

:confused3 Is this tongue in cheek? I hope so. They stated in their OP they HAVE been to WDW before.

I prefer TS for breakfast, actually. :rotfl:

But lunch vs. dinner, I suppose I prefer lunch slightly. It's cheaper and it gets me out of the hot midday sun.
