Do you prefer Preferred Section at POP???

After reading all these remarks I'm worried about my stay at POP this June/July. We are staying 2 weeks and noise is a major issue for me. I booked a preferred room and plan to request a quite location but I'm really having second thoughts about POP all together. My youngest DD really wants to stay at POP, as do I, but I don't want to be upset and feeling let down because I'm not enjoying the resort.

Take a look at this post ... the preferred locations are in yellow ... not all of the preferred rooms are close to pools, etc so you may be OK depending on where they place you

We stayed at POP in the preferred section 60's building on left side (5104-5432 area) on the side NOT facing the pool and it was quite. I am a very light sleeper and didn't have a problem. We are going again in Nov. and will be staying at Pop again and will request the same area. I have read on several thread that the 50's bld facing the lake is very quite if you are worried. I would recommend requesting room NOT facing the pool since they powerwash the pool deck each morning.

We stayed in a preferred room 60's building - ground floor, facing the pool. It was literally right outside our door. We loved it. It was January - so the pool was not packed at night, but we did not have any problem with noise. It was perfect location wise. I made quick trips to Classic Hall for drinks, snacks, etc. I was there and back within minutes. At the end of a long day in the park, it was wonderful to have a short walk from the bus/car to our room. We plan to go back next year and would like to request the same location.

Thanks....I've done all the research on the room locations.....I might have a touch of Disney OCD :surfweb: .....I think what concerns me the most the number of people saying that you hear a lot of noise from the neighbours. That kind of stuff really bugs me. We like quiet when we are in the room. I have no problem with loud, boisterous activity while I'm out and about....in fact I expect it at WDW. I do take into account that we will be there at the busiest time of year but the date is out of our control.

Usually, when we book our WDW trips we pick the resort and that's it but I have never come across so many negative comments about the other resorts. Most of the POP threads are full of neagativity concerning the noise, the buses, the food court and the other guests........what to do?
